Brake Grinding Noise

well that sounds like a good and bad scenario, as I hate the grinding. It must wear out the rotors sooner no?

No because you're not hardly ever actually using the brakes. The pad compound is likely a very aggressive metallic/semi metallic as a result of the expectations that we need our brakes to work well stone cold. I suspect there are also some factors at play with the suspension design and noise abatement that wasn't really focused on.

FWIW you're hearing it in the car as the noise travels through the body...but I had my kid listen for it outside of the car and she couldn't hear anything abnormal..

I have had my MME CA 1 since Mid Sept I have about 1200 miles on it - hearing a noise from front and rear of the car that sounds just like brakes grinding. I ONLY hear this noise during the last 2-4' of a complete stop. I don’t hear it if I'm braking from >30mph.The noise does not occur if 1-pedal mode. I typically drive in Engage. it literally sounds like an old car when this happens - any ideas?

Drive forward, then shift to neutral and apply brakes. Repeat. Noise will go away.

You can also do it by driving backwards, then shift to neutral and apply brakes. Repeat.

It isn't a problem, and there is nothing to resolve.
