Can anyone share what the energy efficiency is with and without a heat pump under the same environmental conditions? Winter driving/summer driving.
The efficiency differences for winter use are reportedly extremely small. The change was made to provide faster heating and to satisfy demands for a heat pump rather than the restive heating on pre 2025 models.
I can't believe they still haven't added an access panel to reach the 12 volt battery terminals.
You’d think, wouldn’t you.

I’ve actually gone back and forth on this one in my head…

At first, I was like, “This is stupid. It needs an access panel!”
Then, I realized, “How often am I ever going to need to get at the 12V battery? 2, maybe 3 times? It’s not like it needs to cold crank the car in winter. It’s fine.”
But lately I’ve come back to, “But when I DO need it, I’m likely going to want to get at it without ripping half the car apart! This is stupid.”

It is stupid. You shouldn't have to take a risk of breaking off a plastic tab just to charge or replace the 12V battery, a part that needs to be replaced every few years it seems.

For charging or FDRS updates just drill a couple of holes or do this: ??

Nice! Did you make (3D print?) this battery terminals + cover connector and wire it to the LVB under the frunk tub?
