? Well exactly 4 weeks, and my MME Rally was returned to me. Hopefully, this won't happen again. I've seen some threads that state this has been reoccurring. Doesn't make for confidence in reliability. ☹

What was the issue and why did it take so long?

It was the High Voltage Battery Junction Box (HVBJB) that required replacement. Dealer only had one tech to work on Mach-E, and he was on vacation for the first week and a half...

That’s crazy that they are still having issues with the HVBJB on 2025s. Glad you finally have it back tho.

There will always be a small non-zero amount of infant mortality on the HVBJBs. Luckily it seems to be a very small percentage of the newer cars.

So is it something that even after the software recalls they just haven’t fixed the part?

I worry because I've heard of reoccurring failures... one person stated 4 replacements... 😬

So this might be difficult for people that don't work with large-scale manufacturing to understand, but not every part made in a factory will be perfect. There is always some defect rate. That doesn't necessarily mean there is a design flaw. They try their best to test and remove the dud contactors before they end up in a car, but there will always be a small amount that pass the initial tests but fail soon afterwards. So it's currently more of an occasional part quality issue and luck of the draw. It's like if you buy a window A/C unit at Home Depot, a certain number of them will go bad during the first year and require warranty replacement. Even if you buy the best brand with good QC, some will still fail.

The part was already redesigned or "fixed", which makes it significantly more reliable.

Yes, there have been a few cases of 4x repeat failures. There might be more going on in these cases, but usually they were "lead foot" drivers that had relentless acceleration pulls like a race track on their drives. Again, very rare use case, but they were able to get buybacks IIRC.

I wish you good luck.
I can tell you that I have been very happy with my '24 Rally over the last year and over 21,000 miles.
