I just replaced my '22 standard GT with a '24 GT with performance upgrade (same flower wheels). There is a minor increase in EPA range of 270 for the '22 to 280 for the '24. I expected to see no real difference in equivalent trips, however I am seeing about a 10% reduction in efficiency in the '24. I'm not talking about GOM, but actual mi/kwh reported in the Trip screen and % battery used. This is from my experience taking the exact same trips I have taken many times before. It's also not due to colder weather since it has been warming up and the trips in the '24 were warmer than recent trips in the '22. No preconditioning/departure time involved either.

A few things I notice. When cabin heat is set at the same temperature on the same level 2 Auto setting, the '24 is more aggresive and louder at heating the cabin. Plus the Climate Use percentage shown in Trip seems to be higher in the '24 which would account for some of the difference, but wouldn't expect that with slightly warmer temperatures and same HVAC settings. Also, the Acceleration rating in the Trip is much more sensitive. I realize this is GT with performance, but the same calm driving would never drop below 90 in the '22 and in '24 easily drops to low 80's.

I'm disappointed as I expected at least as good if not better efficiency and didn't go for 25 with heat pump since I was ok with the 22. Anyone else have similar experience or thoughts?

I also noticed a high consumption for climate on my 2024 the other day with ambient temperature at 50F. Most of my driving hasn’t indicated much difference in efficiency to me from my 2021 GT-PE (not that I really keep track, just my gut feeling). ??

I. Have never seen climate use this high: ??

Driving 75 mph for six hours in a 2024 GT with a full load (4 humans, two small dogs, and our junk) on relatively flat roads in 32 degree weather averaged 2.3 miles per kWh on winter 19” tires.

That is a great result vs my 2022 premium which was unable to go over 2.7 m/kWh in the most ideal 75 degree weather and A/S 19”.

A 15% difference between the two is way less than I would have expected.

As with Steve (HuntingPudel) above, I went from a '21 GTPE to a '24 GT with Performance upgrade and haven't seen a difference. If anything it s a bit more efficient. However, I did take the tires/wheels from my '21 and put them on my '24 which keeps things more equal. Driving back and forth to Sac airport twice a month (111 miles each way) I get virtually the same efficiency as I did with my '21.

Like @markboris I kept the wheels and tires from my 2021 GT-PE. They are obviously less efficient than the stock ones. ??

Reading this seems to imply that you are charging to 100% every night before the trip. My "24GT seems to have a 3-5% drop if I have charged it up to 90% or more in the first couple of miles. That could be what is accounting for the seeming loss of efficiency.

I have a consistent 18mile drive to work and back that consumes about 7% roundtrip (2% there 5% back). The first time I drive after taking the car off the public charger a 3 mile round trip takes about 7% on its own before leveling out and giving me a standard battery drain.

Does the efficiency for your drive seemingly get better if you don't plug in at night?

Those numbers look improbable to me. Do you believe them?

Just on a drive home from work. I did not start the car prior to leaving. I don’t know if I believe the numbers or not. I just know they look out of whack for a 49F day. 52% for climate… Seriously out of whack, but I cannot argue with how much power the car told me it was down when I got home. ?‍♂?

Yes, I could believe 1.6 mpk.

I cannot believe 57% was for climate+temperature.

That was only a 3.8mi drive :)

You'll note, my session had zero miles, and yours was only 3.8 - Over the last two thousand very cold miles (by PNW standards), I'm only averaging around 13% to climate control and 2.5kwh/mi due to the temps and my chronic lead foot.
