255/45 R20 Winter tires

Good afternoon all,

I'm shopping around for some winter tires. I picked up a set of 20x8.5" wheels at an amazing deal, I know others are using the same size on their GTPE's with no issue.

Shopping for tires, a straight replacement 245/45R20 seems difficult, and more expensive than a 255/45R20, which has a VERY similar size profile. I've attached some screenshots for size comparisons. Can anyone confirm if these will fit? The difference seems to be fractions of an inch all around.

They will fit. The 8“ rim is the min size for the 255/45-20 but it’ll mount up and ride perfectly normal. It should be a slightly smoother ride compared to the 245 section width tire. I’m planning on running the same size 255 in a dws 06+ conti on my GT when it arrives next month.

If you get snow normally you’ll want a narrower tire in the winter.

For a 5000lb car, I would assume 10" tire width would still on the narrower side ..

Tires, I got Pirelli Winter Ice Zeros.
