Wallbox is my vote. Their customer service is awesome and thst is big for me.

My wallbox errored out a few times. I called their customer service and they forced an update(update wasn't working thru app either), they said if it happens again then send a video of leds on the inside during the fault. I sent them the video and they responded within a day and said they were sending me a new unit. When I cycled the power the fault would go away so I could still use the charger while I waited for the new one. I have not had any issues with the new one, except I had to call them to force the software update.

I did the electrical work myself so replacing the unit wasn't a problem for me. Mine is the garage too.
That’s great to hear. When something goes wrong (and it always does), good customer service is key.

I have the Emporia as well as all the Emporia power monitoring modules inside my circuit breaker box. So I can not only monitor the power going into the EVSE, I can monitor how much electricity various circuits in my house use. I have had no problems since I installed it about 10 months ago.

Oh man.....I have a Juicebox 40, and a OpenEVSE kit (waiting to be assembled), but I'm a little jealous of the Emporia after seeing this!

Might want to look at your JuiceBox app and website before thinking you can't see similar info.

Interesting. I'm having trouble finding information about any other devices that can be monitored or controlled in the JuiceBox/JuiceNet app. I would love the capability to see circuit energy consumption from the breaker.

Other devices? You see what the circuit, which the JuiceBox is connected to, supplied to the car. It's not monitoring or controlling any other devices.

I know I'm connected, and what amperage and kW I am currently supplying. I know how much energy I have used in total. I can view reports for any period of time. I know what each session sends to the car - my last charging session was for 1:59:37 and used 15.161kWh, and I am still plugged in. I can put in an efficiency (calculated by comparing what the JB says and what FordPass says, although JB doesn't round like FP does. I can put in my electricity cost, and compare to a vehicle getting X miles per gallon with gas at Y$ per gallon.

What's missing?

@mkhuffman appears to have an entire smart panel that reports what every breaker in the house is consuming. That's "other devices" beyond the OP's original desire.

At first i saw that and thought "I want that!" then realized I don't know if I want to be questioning every little use of electricity in the house vs cost. Maybe ignorance is bliss!

He bought adapters to connect his breaker box. Those adapters and equipment to use them aren't part of the charger. If he's using the same app as the charger, I don't really see that as a huge benefit, since the app for the monitoring would show the charger's power usage. But regardless, that's over and above a charger.

From the JuiceBox installation, the 48amp uses 6AWG wire. The 32/40amps use 8AWG. I have no idea if either can use thicker wire.

Emporia does have the hardware available to monitor your whole house. I have 2 main panels and 5 sub panels. I like them. Buy using them I have found offending circuits and am saving about $100 a month on electricity. (Don’t ask how much I use, it’s embarrassing) Here it is in one of my main breaker box, the one with the charger.

My utility company provides an app that tells me usage by minute, one day delayed. If that didn't suffice, I can pay $1.99 a month for instantaneous readout. Did a free 6 month trial, and decided to send it back. Of course I have one panel, and no subpanels, and never exceed 1,500 kw in a peak month, with charging.

Sorry, I guess I wasn’t clear enough. What’s missing is support for an ecosystem of hardware that the app can monitor and/or control. Obviously I knew that the Juicebox EVSE alone cannot monitor other circuits or hardware but you had me curious if JuiceNet has a similar ecosystem. (I don’t think it does)

Can you share your reason for wanting to change the amperage via the app?
I’ve had mine for 18 months, never once encountered a situation where I felt like changing amperage was necessary.
If you have another EV that can only take a lower charge amperage, you don’t have to control that manually. It’s built into the J1772 spec that any charger will only deliver the amperage request by the vehicle.
I adjust the amperage on my Juicebox 40 to match my solar system excess output during off peak hours. For instance, if my solar system is over producing by 1.5 kW at 9:00 AM I set my Juicebox at 6 amps. At 11:00 AM when my system now overproducing by another 1.5 kW, I change my Juicebox to from 6 amps to 12 amps. I don't want to sell my excess energy to my utility at off peak rates.

I view it as two separate things. I wouldn't buy an Emporia refrigerator or electric oven just because they have tools to monitor electricity usage. Buy the best car charger you can for the money you want to spend, and then buy the best electricity usage monitoring product you can.

Yup. Very good point.
