So my car still hasn't made the 9 mile journey to the dealer...3 days left until it's missed it's delivery window and I dress in funeral colors (RIP my excitement)

According to both the reservation page and my salesperson, the delivery window has not changed. That's the only comfort I take in this.

I feel this so hard! My car has been 20 miles from the dealership since early June. My dates moved from 6/20, 7/3, now 7/17.

Same here. Still stuck in Elkhart, IN 110 miles away since late June. No movement yet. Fucking waste of time.

I have people interested in my current vehicle and a shop ready to install PPF and don’t know what to tell them.

Anyone else constantly have issues with Ford's tracking website? Plug in my VIN/order # and I'd say it just redirects me back to the same page. Happens probably 90% of the time, randomly will work occasionally.

Story of my life. Ford can't get their tracker working, and apparently can't get me my car in a reasonable amount of time either.

I also don't get why Ford can't allow us to view the location of the car in real time. I mean, they have gps devices...why can I track a $5 delivery from Amazon better than I can track a $53,000 delivery from Ford?

I think your complaint is with the Freight shipping industry, which is not typically consumer facing. Amazon, or the manufacturer of the thing you buy on Amazon, doesn't track your packages. UPS, FedEX and USPS do. Expecting a car company to develop the infrastructure to do real time tracking of every vehicle they produce isn't exactly reasonable I don't think. I imagine the batteries and other computer equipment on the vehicles are disconnected for transport to prevent damage, preventing the individual GPS units from operating. That and being inside a railcar, but I'm just speculating.

Exactly. Ford makes all this noise about how they will soon transition to all online ordering, but poor tracking is an indication that they don't understand the market requirements of online ordering.

What do you think are the chances for success for a company that doesn't understand a market they plan to enter?

Nope, our complaint is with Ford, who hires the freight companies, that actually have better tracking than Ford itself. When my MME was enroute, Ford tracking only provided coarse waypoints, but the rail companies could give precise locations of the railcars as they moved. Ford has the ability to track the car through the plant, as well, they just won't share that info with us.
As for using the GPS equipment in the cars, the batteries are not disconnected during shipping.

Norfolk Southern and all class 1 railroads have the ability to provide real time tracking on all their assets. Other 3rd party companies also provide that capability and feed it directly to companies like Ford for their internal tracking. Ford just needs to make this detail available to us. Ford is not serious about taking care of us as consumers.

In another build week thread I noticed a guy was doing exactly that. Somehow GPS tracking was enabled at the factory and he was able to configure the app to track it. He said that it was not super reliable at some points on the journey.
