6.13 update failed. Will it try again?

Update for the eye scanning camera was scheduled to be installed overnight two days ago. I checked again to see if it did. It said it failed and I need to go see a dealer to apply the update. I wonder if it will try again? Or should I see a dealer. I have CAR1 2022. I am over 40k miles and I doubt they will do it for free.

I don't see anything in there about going to a dealer to fix it.

It says Ford will make a new update available asap. That means Ford Motor Company -- not the dealer. They will try again via the OTA process, or they'll work to replace that update with one that's packaged better to fix whatever went wrong... Just hang tight on it... nothing to worry about yet.

Ah, I see. Still -- nothing needs to be done yet. Ford will either republish that update eventually, or they'll replace it with a different/fixed version.

If you don't see any updates continuing within 2-3 months from now, then it may be worth having a dealer check it out.

He had a prior U3000:49 internal logic fault in his CMR that likely caused the update to fail. Dealer will need to force flash or replace the module.

My FordPass app notified me about 6.13, but it’s displaying a message I’ve never see before - “Update Pending - Action Required”.

If I click on it, it’s telling me I have to go into the car and schedule updates (should be scheduled) and I have to connect to WiFi”.

I’ve never seen these messages before for any of the other updates I’ve received.

Wow. That is a really nice set of new instructions. Ford is really trying to be helpful in resolving these failed updates.

Yeah, but the WiFi instruction is incorrect since the OTA provisions over cellular. It should be telling the car owners to drive in an area where there is a strong AT&T cellular signal. The car uses WiFi for status, not for firmware images. ?‍♂?

And yet in the 6.x series many folks have reported the size of the downloads via their WiFi routers.

With 6.8 I had the not completed.
Went to wifi and it needed to be reconnected.
Key board wouldn’t come up to add passcode for wifi.
Decided to be patient and about three days later I received the inhibit notice.
From comments abovei see it will have reloaded itself and ids all set.
