My build date was 7/2 and mine is also still awaiting shipment. I'm just hoping that at least one of us gets an update about things. Fingers crossed that they're all on the way but just didn't get scanned.

I don't think any of us are getting an update until the car appears at the dealership, and all our ETAs are in the same couple of days, so I suspect we will all find out at once that our cars are shipped (and arrived) or we will all be waiting indefinitely with each car appearing at random.

In some ways, this is the worst possible black hole. Currently, Ford has more or less washed their hands of it since it is "released to a carrier", but no carrier has come forward to claim it. If the cars don't appear by Aug 4 I'd say, they may in fact be irretrievably lost in transit. What's the actual recourse if they haven't been secretly shipped and Ford really, really cared about locating our cars? It's not on Ford's property so they can't physically go look for it. Ford claims they don't know which carrier has it now so they don't have anyone to tell to look for it. Almost certainly it went to KCS, so KCS would have to look through their ramps manually to find it. I don't see any of that happening. We'll just be in the dark until one day they get so far through their stack of cars that they hit one of ours. Let's hope this isn't reality...

Although I can track the location of the train, ford chat is still telling me it's at Laredo, TX. It's just a terrible information system that can not offer real-time updates.

My Pony railcar arrived in Jacksonville, FL this morning. They have to load it on a car transport to Orlando, wonder how long would that take, its a 2.5 hr drive once its loaded. Hopefully can pick it up by Monday.

I could use some tips on the Union Pacific automated trace line. Here are the instructions that I got from another post:
Union Pacific
1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123
2. Follow phone prompts for Trace
3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together
4. Listen for your update

After you punch “1” for English, it asks you to choose from several options, the first of which is garbled but sounds sort of like “trace”. However, following that there does not seem to be an option to state a railcar number.

Alright, update. Car is arriving at the dealer today and needs inspection and a charge. So best case scenario, I can pick it up tomorrow afternoon. Likely Saturday. :/ so close feels so far.
You are in the lead for the inaugural Mach E photo for our build group. Good Luck!

Ford Chat is still telling me my MME is on a convoy loaded at the Richards-Gebaur rail yard on July 17. This raises one of two possibilities:
  1. It's still sitting at the Kansas City Southern rail yard waiting to be transferred by truck to the BNSF rail yard for its journey north.
  2. It's been shipped directly to my dealer via convoy, perhaps in anticipation of a rail strike or slowdown.
It's hard to say which of these is correct. The lack of up-to-date information is frustrating. If my car is aboard a truck destined for my dealer, there's no way to track that. It could pop up one day soon at the dealership, ready for delivery.

On the other hand, it's not unusual for cars to sit for days or even weeks a rail yards, waiting to be loaded on trains or truck convoys. As others have pointed out, it all depends on available space and drivers.

Assuming it's headed to CA, it's very unlikely that they are shipping it all the way from KC by convoy. Richards-Gebaur does seem to be the offload ramp for all MMEs as they come out of Mexico, so the tracking from Ford chat would seem to indicate #1 is the most likely scenario and that it's delayed on its transfer to the next rail yard. I have seen some people in other threads stuck in this status a good week before they got their next update.

A third scenario which seems fairly rare but does occasionally crop up is where a car fails to get properly updated at some checkpoint, and will be "stuck" somewhere without any updates until it appears suddenly further down the line.

My dealer for this car is in the Dakotas, so the normal route from KC would be northbound on a BNSF train. The convoy would simply transfer it from the KCS rail yard at Richards-Gebaur to the BNSF yard at Argentine, KS.

But that doesn't seem to have happened yet, at least according to Ford. You could be right that they've simply missed a checkpoint and the car is on its way north already. It could appear further down the line or at my dealership any day now!

Ah yeah, mine went through that route, only took a few days after leaving Argentine to pass through ND. I was following someone else's story too and saw that they were in a similar situation to you, seemed to be "stuck" at Richards-Gebaur for nearly a week before it was on its way. Hopefully you see some movement soon.

My dealer in North Dakota told me these days most of their cars are offloaded at the BNSF terminal at Dilworth, MN, outside of Fargo, ND. Then they're trucked all the way across the state for delivery.

While that sounds rather inefficient, my dealer told me they've been receiving cars quicker than when they used to offload vehicles at a closer rail yard in Montana. Go figure!
