Picked up our GTPE last night at Phil Long in Denver. A bit of a marathon, but the good news is they honored X-plan, and after lots of instruction by me, we were able to finance with Blue Options. Here’s an odd bit though... We were trading in a low mileage Mercedes GLC 350e, and they offered us a reasonable price, but we were told that Ford Options limits the amount that can be used as down payment from the trade. Has anyone else encountered that? We were told that it’s capped at $18K. Has anyone else heard of that?

Almost forgot to post the photos! Our salesperson, Bernard Quisumbing, was really great. He had never done a Blue Options sale before, and was very patient with my instructions that I’d gotten from the forums here. I‘d highly recommend him!

I believe there is a maximum down payment amount that is a percentage of the selling price of the car. I'm not sure what it is, but when I went through Options online, I put in a large amount just to see. The system automatically adjusted my down payment down.

I think if you're trading in something that is above the maximum amount, you should get the difference back. I'm not positive though, as I was not trading in a vehicle.

Yes, I think that is correct about it being a percentage of the selling price. We are getting the difference back as a check cut to us.

Wow! Nice looking GTPE. Congratulations! ??

When I picked mine up this week, I didn’t trade in a vehicle. I sold my trade-in first and then applied $15K of the profit to my MME. The dealership didn’t mention at a limit on my down payment or how much I could trade in. I wasn’t aware there was a limit in the Ford Options program, but it’s possible.

Did your dealer tell you it was a limit on the amount from the trade-in, or just a down payment limit?

My car has been moved to "shipped" status now (between yesterday and today).

Contact Ford Chat tomorrow morning and ask them for the location of the car. I’d be willing to bet it’s a lot further along than you (or Ford) may think!

Picked up my car yesterday. Not smooth process, but I got price protection, Ford Options incentive, and x-plan. Dealer omitted parking assist credit, but agreed to put it back into calculations. We were there for over 3 hours.

Got our ice blue yesterday as well. 4 hours at dealership. Overall smooth except for deposit.

Reached out to Ford Chat this morning. I now have a railcar AOK 501725, but the location is still Lecheria Ramp 5J, no word on who the carrier is. I tried someone's suggestion on the forum to try Union Pacific automated system with just the numbers (they didn't have a record if including the AOK), which said this car was loaded in Utah and is now empty, having been delivered 7/31 at 2:30am, but had no information for where it's been delivered(!). Maybe, maybe...

My railcar number is KCS 008285. Do you know how to track this?
Also car is still in "built" state.

KCS is Kansas City Southern, that's the railway that Ford uses to get cars from Mexico up to Kansas City. To my knowledge there is no way to track them other than asking your dealer or Ford chat for updates .

If they really are on KCS cars and it's not just a glitch in tracking that could mean your cars really have been waiting in Mexico since production unfortunately.

AOK is a trucking company based in Kansas City and 501725 is the convoy number. I’d suggest calling them for information on the whereabouts of the truck carrying your car.

One thing is for sure: If your car is loaded on a truck out of KC, it’s no longer in Mexico!
