I just got a phone call from my dealer that I bought the car from and I am due for my 6 month service ? I thought it was every 10,000 miles? Which I am at 8,700 miles right now so I went ahead and scheduled. Do these routine service check ups usually cost? Thank you

It is 10000 and they don’t really do anything. Rotate tires and a bunch of inspections like brakes, etc.. your rep may think you are due for an oil change.

Yes it will cost unless you bought a BEV maintenance plan.

It cost us $27. The time to go to the dealer (more than an hour drive away) was more costly. I'm hoping I'll have my new garage built by the time our 20k mile service comes around and I can do it myself.

I skipped my 10K service. I rotated my tires 3 times prior to 10K, will rotate again at around 12K miles. ?‍♂? Gonna have to figure out another reason th put the car in the air over the next month or so. ??

Open manual, ignore dealer. You are correct.

Most people are paying around $20 - $30. Check your manual for exactly what is required (visual inspection and tire rotation).

Well, Friday I went to the dealer and $76 later the just rotated the tires and looked over the cooling system for the battery! Cost more that a damn oil change! Does it effect your warranty at all if you get the tires rotated yourself? They want me to come back in October? Every six months?

Why didn't you ask them the cost in advance? That's an outrageous cost, most have paid $20 - $30.

Your warranty isn't affected if you do ALL the recommended maintenance in your own driveway. Just keep records.

You need to either do it yourself or find another dealer. As others have said, it should be between $20 and $30 and only every 10k miles (not time based). We paid for the first one, but got our second one comped because it was in for the HVBJB repair anyways. I also got the first one on my Lightning comped because they took care of a couple other minor issues at the same time.

I took delivery in May 2022. To date, I've had $65 in service if you include the $45 inspection fee. I had my tires rotated at 10K for $19.95. My Ford Pass point from my original purchase have paid for everything. NH dealer.

What actually is the official service interval in US?

Is there such disparity between US & UK servicing intervals?

Has anybody checked recently to see if Ford have extended service intervals for their US MMEs?

I took mine in for its first 18,500mile/1 year service on time on mileage at 6 months old according to Ford’s recommendation for UK cars on mileage at that time, cost me c£170

At 36,000 miles tried to book the ‘ Stang in for its 2nd service but dealer refused to book it in explaining Ford just extended service interval to 2 years unlimited mileage!!

Only thing is for me that is c60,000 miles.

If I wasn’t a forensic vehicle examiner able to keep an eye on things would mean nobody, apart from a tyre shop, would go under the car for 60k which in my view is far too long.

Decided to take it in to Ford dealer at c40,000 miles for a vehicle health/safety check for £60 and planning on making them carry out a 2-year service at around 58,000 just before it’s out of warranty at 60,000 miles which will probably be just before it’s 2nd birthday mid-June.

I do tend to have the wheel alignment checked & adjusted if found to be necessary every 3 months, though, which I’d recommend because maintaining steering & suspension geometry extends tyre wear & range.

The Ford Pass App just told me yesterday that my first service is due soon - 16,000 km. I'll be getting the winter tires swapped before that anyway, so I'll assume I'm good after that - but I'll ask to see what they plan on checking.

Money, money, is all dealers need from you. With low miles and 6 months nothing requires maintenance. Rotate tire like every 5000 miles and look under car to see if anything was hit by road debris. Cancel the appt or bring your credit card.

I think the service consist of:
1) Driving to dealer
2) handing over $100
3) driving away
