How in the world do you set your charge to 90% the recommended amount for longer battery life. I for the life of me can’t figure it out.

1) Charge for a few minutes at the location.
2) In FordPass or the car, under Charging, you can save the location, set times, and limits.
3) Make sure in FordPass to select Use Preferred Charge Settings, not Charge When Plugged In.

In the Ford Pass app click on "vehicle" then "charging" , then "preferred times", then choose your location, then "use preferred charge settings", then slide the bar to 90%, then make sure you hit "save". Simple, eh?

Note that the charge limit is location based. When you set a limit for a location, you must have charged at that location at least once before. Your "location" may or may not be your home. FordPass on my phone says I'm charging at my across the street neighbor's house even though my phone's GPS knows I'm at my home address. The car's GPS I guess isn't as granular as my phone's. ?‍♂?

I have my preferred charge settings checked, and it still charges the 100% even though I don’t have the 100% checked any other great ideas?

more than likely, you are having the same issue that I am having with mine. You navigation does not read your correct actual location. So it is not recognizing that you’re at home. I literally just dropped my car off this morning at the dealership to get this issue addressed. Go to Ford navigation and see if it’s accurate.

First, continue the prior thread instead of starting a new one, for continuity.

Did you set the limit to 90% for that location?

Does it show you at that location about to charge?

Yes it shows me at that location and it shows I’m set to charge to 90%, but it still charges to 100%! I have been charging to 90% before because I was told it’s better for battery life, but I changed it one time to hundred percent so that I could go to a city and come back without having to stop and charge but now I can’t get it back to the 90%

Check it in the car, it may not be registering the 90% change.

So maybe Ford will give me a discount when I have to get a new battery because it’ll work out faster charging to 100% all the time!?

Yes it’s registering the 90% change preferred charges in the car but it still charges to 100%!
1) Delete the charging location in the car.

2) Charge for a few minutes, then unplug charger.

3) Save the location, set times and 90%.

4) Select Use Preferred in FordPass and save it.

5) Plug in.

Or Ford software engineers could not suck at their job and just give us a universal charge level setting. Seriously, who thought we would need several different location based charge levels?

Retired. I'd say it was a mid life crisis, but not many people live to 140.

Once you know to do it, it is fine. Most of us will only need location Home. :)
