My adaptive cruise control is reading the change in speed limit signs but not adjusting the actual speed to the selected tolerance. It's happened I guess for about a week, just really noticed it today.

Anyone able to confirm the software issue using my VIN to check for error codes?

Or anyone else recently experiencing this?

Did you ever figure out what this is? I had mine at the dealer yesterday for 60K service. So tire rotation, etc. Plus I had a software recall and seat belt recall. Almost immediately after I set adaptive cruise control per usual, it said it was unavailable and to see service soon. But it kept reading the signs, just not adjusting the speed appropriately. So all the sudden I'm going 60 in a 35, for example. Not fun, or safe. Anyone have that after the instrument panel update? My phone's not showing the recall software update. Darn it.

I have never had the cruise control adjust itself based on the posted speed limit and pretty darn sure I wouldn’t want iI to. I really don’t think the car reads the signs all that often in any event.
Speed limit info is available by GPS and is available on my Garmin antique Nuvi GPS as well Has Apple and Google maps.

That's your choice. I happen to really like adaptive cruise control and just want it to work properly again.

I presume you have gone into the menu to confirm that your settings have not changed as a result of the software update. It seems that every software update I get changes something in the various menus that I have to reset (such as seat settings, radio stations, navigation suggestions, etc.).

Yes I did. But I'm going to check again today. Thanks.

"Adaptive Cruise" refers to your car keeping a set distance away from the car in front of you while using cruise control. If you are set to 65 mph and come up to a car going 60, adaptive cruise slows down to keep you a set distance behind that car and matches the 60 mph speed. When that car in front moves away or speeds up, your car matches the new speed up to your set 65 mph setting.

I believe that the setting you are looking for is called "Speed Sign Recognition". It is either in the Cruise Control menu or Driver Assistance menu, IIRC.

If your your message says "adaptive cruise not available", that could be related to a bad camera, bad radar, or bad IPMA. The software update may have not been loaded successfully. The IPMA and camera are both involved in speed sign recognition too. See your dealer to get that all fixed if you can't find the settings in your car menu screen.

I have a feeling it's the latter here since it melted down right after the supposed software update.

UPDATE!! I just took a short 20 mile trip, without changing any of the typical ACC settings and it worked perfectly normal. Strange.
