Adaptor (CCS to Tesla) should come with wire extender

Well that would be cool but I'm sure they're short because it improves performance and overall reliability of the actual charging station and performance charging the car and since Tesla charge parts are on the back it's a perfect length for them there was never any indication that Tesla would ever open up Tesla charges to the rest of the world unfortunately Tesla realize this was a area where they could make some money by charging us a certain amount of money to charge even though most the time their power from these station comes from solar panels on roof which may or may not cost them anything and they're m probably more than the other charging structures.

Hi all. Am I the only one scratching my head about why the CCS to Tesla Adaptors, whether provided by Ford or through purchase, don't seem to have an option of have a wire extension built in. It seems that the Tesla chargers are quite short. Having an adaptor with a wire extender built in would be helpful. Just my two cents.

The Tesla accessories store had a note a couple weeks ago that they were working on one.

I wonder how they arrived at $301.

Will be good to have some options on the extension, so far at least A2Z and Tesla, for those that want it. I haven't heard of anyone not being able to charge because of positioning so far, I am hoping we won't ever need one.

I just looked in plugshare at a Supercharger I was looking forward to using, and I'm not even sure it's possible to charge here without an extension unless you just pulled across 2 spaces. If it was busy, you might not be able to charge at all. I'll probably get around to ordering an extension at some point....

It’s showing as $400CAD. Maybe it’s just adjusting based on exchange rate.

I’m interested even though I wouldn’t use it all that much. Curious to see what kind of power it will sustain and how that will all work.

I actually stopped there and was able to make the last spot on the right work alright. Any other spot would be just about impossible without parking like a total d**k, though.

I am planning on purchasing this once available. I came back from a road trip recently where I stopped at many different superchargers across many states. In the most cases, I probably would not need this but damn… I feel like such a dick at superchargers when I take up two spaces.

EDIT: it doesn’t look like they plan to release this anymore because the link is dead. They still have extension cable on their site but it looks like it is just for destination charger use?

Yes, same since there are times that a Supercharger location is full and by taking up 2 spaces would be rude.

I plan to buy one as soon as it's available to order and will post my review on it using the OEM TESLA adapter and the A2Z Typhoon Pro / Standard adapter.

Hopefully we can use the forum discount code "FORD" on the extension cord just like we did on the Typhoon adapters.

It's not compatible with the SCs. At least the only extension cord currently listed there.

Different item. The one they are planning to release is for DC charging. The one you show is for AC charging only.
