Here is what the indicator lights mean:

I already know that chart from the user manual and it's nonsensical. "Off" ... "Illuminated" ... "Disabled" ... WTF?

A lit airbag warning light, to me, is a warning. That's how it's aways been in every car I've owned.

So, is there a problem with the airbag systems in my car or does this yellow light in the ceiling stay lit for all Mach-E cars? (For some nonsensical reason.)

If there's a problem, it will be illuminated on the console with the speedometer. The lights on the ceiling for informational purposes as stated in the manual and in the above post.

If the passenger seat is empty then the passenger air bag is off (disabled) and the OFF light is on (illuminated) to let you know that the passenger air bag is off (by design). So there is always a light to let you know if the airbag is off or on in each scenario.

This to let you know that your small child is not going to die because the airbag is on. It should say it’s off based on weight of the person sitting in the seat.

There's a gel filled bladder in the seat bottom with a hose that connects it to pressure sensor to weigh the occupant. The console light is present in pretty much all ford vehicles and works as intended. You can test it by observing the light and sitting the seat. The module that does this is the OCSM. Ford thinks highly about this bladder / module setup and wants $1500 for them.
