Android app added widgets and shortcuts

Is the text being squished because of font settings you have on the phone? I shrunk my widget down really small and the text never cut off like that. Could it be the resolution of your screen? What phone do you have?

S25U. I can't change the widget size at all.

Font size was set to default. Shrinking it to the smallest slightly improves it but it is still clipped.

Changing the screen resolution from FHD to FHD+ to QHD doesn't change anything.

I realize this isn't that helpful, but I'm still on 5.21 and I can resize the widget and the text is displayed correctly.

I can't get it smaller than 3X2, but I can stretch it across the screen. Doesn't appear to be any vertical adjustment. Only horizontal.

The shortcuts truly are shortcuts. One tap from your launcher/home screen and the vehicle will be locked, unlocked, or started.

@MetalCord, you may be missing a setup step... After you hold on the FordPass icon you see the list of shortcuts. Yes, you can then launch them from there. But you could ALSO choose to slide a shortcut out of that menu and onto your home page. This makes it a one-tap shortcut for future use.

I'm very disappointed with the new widget, though. Yeah it looks neat, aesthetically... But it takes up a lot of screen space and worst of all, it's not dynamically updating! It only refreshes when I open the FordPass app. So it's not useful info at a glance, since it's out of date.

Yep, I was wrong about the shortcuts since I lacked the patience to let the thing play out. There is indeed a status showing "Locking vehicle", and if you wait long enough it executes to completion as advertised.

Still stand by my comment on the widget as a step in right direction. However, just populate it with a lot more data like the 3rd party "Ford Status Widget" that worked great until Ford effectively shut down the FordConnect API that it need to operate.

My FordPass app isn't working today! If I didn't have a physical key in a Faraday pouch under the floorboard, I would have been toast. I can't get it to function. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooted the phone, etc. I even installed the app on a different phone, logged in and it still doesn't work. I get a blank screen--no vehicles displayed. Ford, FIX THIS PLEASE.

Not trying to be argumentative as you may just have a typo. Are you sure that's a 2X2 widget? If it was, sholdn't it be as wide as it is tall? That looks like a 3X2 widget.

Maybe it's a Samsung issue with that particular widget. I have a Pixel 9 Pro and others who have pixels don't seem to have that issue. Pedrodagr8 has the same issue and he's got a Samsung as well.

You nailed it! Did some trial-and-error digging and it's the tile density causing the problem. Based on your widget dimensions, you have your homescreen set to a 5x6 grid.

Mine was set to a 4x7 grid and the text gets cutoff. If I change to a 5x6 grid, then mine looks identical to yours. Also, the least dense 4x5 grid works

My grid is set to 5x5. Of course their not counting the quick launch row on the bottom, so I agree with you in reality it's 5x6.

Does the shortcut end up opening the ford app for you? For me it keeps opening the app while simultaneously running the command. I don't want it to open the app.

Yes, butI more or less gave up the widget feature as I found that I'd just a soon run the app to get every thing at once anyway instead of little snippets.
