I was not (exactly) locked out last tonight, but came home from a 240 mile trip, plugged in my 2023.5, and about two hours later got a charger fault error on FordPass (car was not scheduled to actually charge for another couple of more hours). Thankfully, the door opened, but turning on the display was greeting by the red "stop car now" message, ref LVB indicator, and the car would only stay in accessory mode - was also getting the orange circle on the charge port - in sum, the car was well on its way to being a very large paperweight.

I pulled the negative battery terminal for about 30 min, and so far everything looks back to normal. The car subsequently charged as expected overnight, but for now I am leaving the window rolled down, and keeping a lighted a candle and rubbed sage in the frunk as an offering to entice the OTA gods to pay a visit.

Part of me thinks it's not a bad idea to always back into my garage and leave a window down. I have a fear that it'll brick and getting an awd out of the garage when the only attach points are in front of the car, doesn't bare thinking.

You put a lighted candle in your frunk?

So I’m not home but asked my wife to pop the frunk and leave it popped open but not fully-extended open in case the lockout bug hit my mme while I was gone. Any reason why this isn’t a good option in lieu of an open window? I asked her not to fully open as I assumed this would keep the frunk light on. 23.5 GT

I think it's a great idea, personally. Better than the string or window down.
I must admit that I probably feel that way because it's a common tactic with 2-seat Porches that sit idle for days between drives.

I read every thread on the topic and wondered why nobody mentioned just leaving the frunk popped. My car sits in a garage but leaving the window open only seemed as a resort to access the frunk so I wasn’t sure why just leaving it popped wasn’t mentioned. Anyhoo, I’m just glad my car was still able to be opened ? I’m currently at a fire in Oregon and won’t be home till next Thursday so I was worried lol

The light comes on as soon as the frunk is popped. It is on a timer so it will extinguish after several minutes (I never measured the duration). ??
