There was a owner who bought ocean one for $75K out the door, and he went 2 ask Carmax for trade in just after 3 month he got the car because of the news. Carmax offered around $22K. Market price for used one is probably $25K. That new sticker is just their asking price. Not sure many will take the leap of faith to take their inventory clearance. EVs require proprietary software to diagnose and repair.

Also, see this article.

It makes for a good story, but I wouldn’t take a crappy low ball dealer trade in offer as “that’s what your car is worth now.”

Either way, people are worried about buying a car that may never be able to be serviced.

What happened last time to Fisker owners with warranty claims when they went bankrupt?

It is volatile now for sure. I saw another owner went to tesla. But Tesla refuse 2 accept any Fisker now. Some went to VW. All similar price, they use the same wholesale data base. I mean it will never exceed the $35K price of a new model. I think the owners have the same mentality and refuse to accept reality thinking it is a $70K car still. Honestly, unless Fisker gets saved, that car's value will remain worthless. Previous Fisker karma got bought out by a Chinese firm. The warranty was maintained. I don't think any one wants this new Fisker. No proprietary tech/platform, no assembly line. All of these belongs to Magna. nothing worthy to the other manufacturers except the "design" of the car. No reputation or history too.

We started discussing Rivian (they’re gonna need luck but they’re building some very good cars so hopefully they make it or at least get bought out) and then got to Fisker (like I said above - I’m not surprised). Both of these aren’t exactly apples to apples comparisons with Mach E though. Even if Mach E shuts down tomorrow, I’m quite sure Ford will honor the warranty because Ford isn’t going anywhere just yet. :)

I think I see your point. From a “safe purchase” standpoint, Tesla stands tall today in EV segment. Mach E, Ioniq and other big car makers will at least not leave you in the dirt even if they cancel the model of EV you have at least through the warranty period and possibly even beyond. But buying EVs right now from a startup can be a potential for disaster. Safe just leasing.

Let’s try not compete for a premium seat on the titanic. All legacy carmakers are in hot water. This talk about Ford vs Kia is based on tribalism and doesn’t lead to a brighter future for either. Tallest midget in the room (excuse my lack of political correctness). The competition is Tesla and BYD. Everything else is a distraction.
just my opinion but I feel that marketplace reality has caught Tesla. Early adopters are done - and friends who had Tesla‘s have moved to other EV manufacturers. Fresher models and more choices from multiple manufacturers are reality . And soon BYD. And the marketplace is now dictating to the manufacturers.

yes on a used MME GTPE - values made them attractive .

And marketplace has adjusted . Anyone want a new EV in Europe ?

Hi! I was in an accident in my 23’ Tesla Model 3 Performance, which is totaled. I am intrigued by the deals on the Mach-E GTs right now and am tempted to pull the trigger on one. I am slightly cautious, but I test-drove two and loved them. I put around 25-30k miles a year on my cars. It seems like many issues plagued the 21’ & 22’ model years. Any advice? Should I get one and enjoy it? ?

If you drove it and loved it, buy it.

A lot of those early issues were bugs that have been fixed and the main one (HVBJB) has been recalled and fixed.

There is good reason this car keeps scoring high on independent reviews and tests.

Maybe one reason to consider a 2024 instead is it’s faster. But you can decide if the 2023 was fast enough.

Fast cars - more prone to accidents. Give that just one thought having just come out of an accident and then decide. :)

Mach-E is a decent car but it does NOT ride as smoothly as model 3 or y so just keep that in mind. The suspension in Model Y performance I drove a few weeks ago was not bad but only you can do the comparison
