They will make them in Mexico and ship them over here under usmca. And I don’t want to drive a Chinese made car, thank you very much.US government is preventing the Chinese cars coming in. So you don't have to worry too much for the legacy carmakers in the US. As an ordinary consumer, I want the cheaper Chinese cars. That new xiaomi SU7 max looks bright.Nice color choice, decent look, 2.8S 0-60, 101 KWH battery. I bet the software system is good too from a phone company. The car has an equivalent price of $42K USD. Man, if i can have that spec for $50K USD, I would be in line to buy. And that is just one of the many many offerings available in china. The low cost manufacturing and mature supply chain is simply superior.
I’m not worried about domestic legacy OEMs, as long as Tesla and Rivian survive.
