Another sound system/subwoofer thread....

Well... got my Mach-E four weeks ago. First appointment was at my preferred sound install shop which happens to also be a member of our Car Audio team from Gladen Mosconi Germany.

So, what was planned after all my experiences with my 2016 ICE Mustang which was easily one of the best sounding Mustangs in the Car Audio scene in Germany?

Easy... better quality sound.
What did we do?

1. Utilize a proper sound interface to get the A2B audio signal into a DSP amplifier, welcome Pac-Audio AP4-FD31
2. Change front speakers, welcome Gladen Audio Zeta 165 and a wideband instead of a tweeter, Gladen SigmaSM50.
3. better Subs, welcome 2x Gladen GAMMA GS12-Slim

and of course

4. better amplification, welcome Mosconi One 6/10 DSP and Mosconi One 1/1000

If course we also did an extensive job on sound deadening, where we concentrated on all doors and the tailgate and proper power delivery with 35mm² power from battery to trunk, 25mm² from trunk to amps with corresponding ground cables.

Next was the midbass driver in the door:

Out with the crappy old driver, in with the Gladen Zeta 165.

Amprack and subwoofer box build:

This was the beginning. Amprack and Subwoofer box were integrated.

The cracks were filled with fibrefiller.

And then it was built up to give the subs enough volume:

Then it was wrapped in original Ford cloth:

Filled with wool and then the subs were put in:

Amp cabling was done, power from the 12V battery, grounds were used at the original amp location after measuring the resistance to the batteries negative terminal. So the final outcome was this:

While driving the original floor is laying above the amp rack, so nothing can fall onto the subs or amps.

After finishing i gave the system an initial tune which will be refined in the next days for the first EMMA competition next saturday.
Total cost in € was 3961,-- € which puts me right into the limit of the EMMA Master OEM 4000 category.

Outstanding install, my German friends. Were the component parts specifically selected to make the music of Ludwig van Beethoven sound better? Your acoustic insulation makes a big difference in the clarity of his piano sonotas, doesn't it?
