4 months in with ChargePoint and like it’s simplicity and plug attachment quality. Utility company paid me back the $500 which left only a modest install fee from pro electrician. Jealous you’ll be able to hook into 60A circuitry. I had to use 32A setting due to also having a solar array wired into an elderly box. But by charging at night (11 pm to 6 am) I easily get 150+ miles of charge or more. Supposedly the ChargePoint cable stays more flexible in frigid temps which mattered to me.
Thanks! Really appreciate your advice and experience. Just ordered an Emporia last night based on all the great feedback here.
No rebates or incentives at all from my electric company or the state unfortunately. But I will be doing all the electrical which will save me some case. Just wish wire wasn’t so dang expensive lol.

Hey folks - just joined the Mach E club yesterday! Super excited. I am getting ready to add a LVL 2 Charger to my garage. I have read a LOT of threads on which one to get. I just want to make sure I understand the general favorites of the group after all my reading. If I have it correct, the main favorites are Emporia, Charge Point Home Flex 2, and Grizzl-E. Is that correct? I am leaning Emporia and it will be hardwired to 60 AMP breaker.

Any others I should be considering? I have ruled out the Ford one both due to cost and the uncertain reliability - at least based on threads here. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!
I have the ford and it has worked perfect for 2 years + and 50K of charging.
Also moved homes once with it

I did some research on the most popular and highly recommended charging stations currently available.

Emporia for $359 after forum discount is a great value.

Feel free to use the forum discount code “FORD” to save $$$ on A2Z EV website.

At my house I bought the Emporia and hardwired it on a 60Amp breaker because when I get solar (in a couple of months) it has the capability to integrate with their energy management system and dump excess solar into the car battery. In Alberta here if I dump excess solar back into the grid I get a full refund on the price of electricity (~11c/kwh), but there's no refund on the distribution fees (~7c/kwh) so I can save a fair amount by waiting to charge until the sun is shining. I'm going to try to do 100% of my spring and summer home charging with self-generated solar.

At my ski cabin I bought a dumb Grizzl-E avalanche edition. I automated a contactor to share a circuit with a garage heater (it cuts power to the charger and directs it to the heater instead when the temperature in the garage goes below ~15C), and dialed it down to 16Amps since the existing wiring and breaker for the heater were 20Amp.

Very happy with both. Different situations, different choices. Both are well made.

My daughter has one. I agree with Rick.
I actually had one problem on my juicebox 40 in eighteen months. I got a "charging paused" in fordpass, couldn't clear it unplugging unit etc. I called tech support was thru to someone in minutes, he logged in remotely to my unit reset everything and sorted the issue. I was very impressed with their tech support. FYI, I had used the ford portable evse for eighteen months without issue.

I used the Juicebox for a year without using their app and it worked fine. I finally got the app going recently and so far it is working OK, so I think they have improved it. I only use the app to adjust Amps and get reports on charging energy used. I use the car software for scheduled charging.

My daughter had hers replaced twice under warranty. The support was pretty good, but the change they made to the app a while back was a huge step backwards.

Regarding the Emporia, does combining it with the Vue Energy Monitor allow it to automatically adjust based on the electric utility's load schedule or is that extra piece necessary to schedule the charging at all? Their description makes it seem like the Energy Monitor allows you to charge off-peak, but the base station itself says you can set schedules so I'm confused...

im not sure to be honest but since the Ford Pass app already lets you choose when you charge I’m not sure it would be a huge advantage if it did. I just got mine last week and plan to install it this coming weekend.
