Antenna cover rust circles?

Just wondering if anyone has seen this and know what it is? Are these caps and are there screws/bolts under here? My car is currently getting serviced and wanted to take care of this. Dealer says this is normal characteristic. I don't think so. Thoughts?

Really tough to get a good look when the image is a picture of a picture. From what it looks like to me I would say that its pollen or dirt. Try cleaning it up and take some new pictures. Looks like those are from last year.

Just dirt. Wipe off. I don’t know what’s under it that makes it collect dust there.

Agreed, those are bad pictures but all I could find since my car is in the shop.

The surface is flat. Nothing you can get to without removing the cover.

I think parts of the headliner attach with magnets so maybe just the other side of the magnet is catching metal particulates from the environment?

Dealer sent me a picture showing me one on the lot with the same issue. They said they would pull the panel off to investigate. But yes it is smooth. Wonder if there's illustration for the under side?

Yeah they're magnets, you must live in an area with a lot of iron dust or somebody was grinding metal by your car. I would recommend using clay bar to remove the iron particles.

There is one support magnet on the headliner. The location is dead center, 12" forward of the shark fin antenna. The magnet on the headliner contacts a metal support rail and not directly to the roof.

I didn't see this thread thank you for this. Answers my questions. I guess maybe I will need to ceramic coat that part of the plastic to protect it.
I will see what my service advisor finds out. But I guess I won't make them work any harder on this. It will tell me how competent they are at their research.
