Anyone have any experience running 5x108 to 5x114 wheel spacer adapters on the MME?

Our choices in 5x108 wheels is fairly limited and I don't really want to drop $$$ on wheels with a limited application (resale value and being able to use on future vehicles).

I wouldn't do it. You can find wheels that are drilled to size. Not a chance in hell I'd adapt a vehicle of this caliber and mass

I get some people hate the idea of spacers but some wheels you cannot get drilled to size; or at least not afforably or within a reasonable wait time. Personally I like to buy what's in stock.

And as per my OP, it's because 5x114 fits many vehicles which helps me sell the wheels after if I don't want them OR use them on a future vehicle. Out of the 20ish vehicles I have owned, this is the only one I've ever had in 5x108.

As for the caliber and mass comment, people run spacers on pickup trucks all the time without issue (as long as you're installing them correctly). An F150 is similar in curb weight to an MME.

Just wanted to see if anyone has done it yet on these vehicles and noticed anything worth mentioning.

This is one of the reasons I suggest against it (vid). To get the wheel back to where it belongs leaves options limited to not have a design that's all at the edge of the wheel.

Not advisable; the more mating surfaces at the wheel fixing station the greater the risk of wheel loss.

It is also likely to alter the steering and/or suspension geometry & handling and add extra forces to the steering & suspension components increasing risk of failure so exposing you to liabilities to others in the vehicle or other road users who may suffer property damage, injury or even death consequent to a failure which may occur due to a modification that I’m sure will not be approved by the Manufacturer.

Also in UK, not sure about insurance law in US, such a modification is ā€œnotifiableā€ which, if not made, could invalidate insurance or if the alteration is notified will likely increase premium rates if an insurer would even accept such a modification.

It’s almost certain to invalidate warranty, too!
