Some 2022 owners have said that it can't.
I thought they said it was still in the trial period? I’m thinking there’s a chance it goes away after that period.

From my limited attempt to remove it, it seems permanent. Tapping on the icon initiates an activation agreement screen, which I did not continue.

None of the rest of the menus have an option to remove it, at least not that I've found. But Ford's UI isn't exactly well designed.

Funny how most will love Alexa and some hate Her.....
I will always love Alexa bc she is my daughter's name way before AZ named their AI (Alexa)
That is hilerous! Not sure why so many hate Alexa keeping tabs on them, the cell phone in their pocket does a better job!

Simple. The cellphone is a voluntary act. The imposition of Alexa is not.

Can you share a pic. I haven’t seen it on the Mach-E before.
I haven't made a video or took a picture just of that specifically but here's a TikTok I made where I was cracking fun that the map gave priority to showing gas stations. You can see the icon right there at top.

Makes logical sense, but so does accessing the information provided by my car even though I don't have an account. I know, Alexa MME 1.0 doesn't do that. At some point I believe it will.
We'll worry about that when the center screen starts to show you ads lol

If you searched something on Amazon, looked at a few times, say a cool Mach E spoiler, you maybe added it to your cart and we're still thinking if it's worth the money or so. Maybe you're waiting for your birthday to gift it to yourself, Amazon and many others will send you an email, "Hey, it's still in your cart if you're thinking about it", "or you looked at a few if these items, but didn't make the purchase yet, do you need more suggestions".

But this data is not sold publicly. It stays within the company.

But however if you use googles products to do that search such as google search or Google chrome, or talked to someone in Whatsapp about it or Gmail, then what Google does it, brings in all the ads relevant to the product that you searched for, and shows it at various places. But it's not Amazon that gives this data to them.

All or most of the time this information is present on your side, in your phone or browser cookies.
So now you’re trying to go back to the standard examples.
Trust me it was one of those freak things to mention.
When I thought about it, I thought what is more likely is that others in my demographics may have searched so they are being preemptive.

I don't see how you could possibly make a definitive statement that it's not from web browsing. Even your IP address, screen resolution of your computer, rendering speed of your browser are all things they can use to develop a fingerprint of you.
I can make that statement.
As I mentioned on other post, I think it’s more my demographic profile they may be picking on as the things they are picking up on are , I spoke in front of my Alexa box but have definitely not searched or gone near a computer with as they are dead topics to me.
And I know they’re not listening to me all day. That would be so boring.

I just installed the Ford+Alexa app for Android. I'll test it out on my commute home tonight and let you know how it goes.
I replied before I realized that Alexa is built-in on the newer cars. I did test out the Ford+Alexa app, and it is horrible.

Setup wasn't hard, but once it is running, the wake word works once. After that it stops responding to the wake word. It is not integrated with the long press of the steering wheel button, but there is a soft button on the screen to force it to listen. Even then it was iffy if it was going to understand my command, and I could not get it to play any song that I requested, even though I know they are in my Amazon library.

It looks like most people here don't touch Amazon with a ten foot pole, but even if you are a home Alexa user, stay away from the Ford+Alexa app.

It’s weird, I use Alexa dozens of times a day at home, she runs my house. We have 9 echos around an average sized house. For some reason I have always viewed her has my “home”assistant. I’ve tried 2 different echo devices in my previous car and they both worked fine, but I didn’t really have anything to say to her. Everywhere else I tend to use Siri, it works just as well and it is better integrated with my phone. Having Alexa built in to the car could be nice, but I would still only think of her to turn off the lights in my house if I forgot.

"Alexa, turn on the defroster" or "Alexa, turn off the radio". It could be useful while driving, but I still don't want it.

Same, I searched for any way to remove this and I can't. I have only had the car for a couple of days but it pissed me off so much that there is (what I consider to be) a constant advertisement at the top of the screen.

I *HATE* that this can't be removed. In a year will there be 5 other icons up there with 'helpful' ads? I have nothing against anyone using Alexa, I just don't want it.
