Apple Maps - Random Zoom Change - 2D/3D Mode

I've been having an issue where while in CarPlay with the Apple Maps up - the zoom will randomly change and switch from 3D to 2D

This is without an active route / nav going - just with the map being displayed - anyone else having this issue??

That's just Apple Maps, to be honest. If not in a route, it tends to zoom out to give you the view it thinks you should have based on speed, and once it passes a particular zoom level, it drops from 3D to 2D.

If you want to keep it in the mode you like, basically you have to start a route and then turn announcements off or turn them into alert-only mode.

Yeah - I've been using Apple Maps / CarPlay for about 5 years now in various cars - The 2d/3d is something it has done for a while - but the zoom is something new - the previous cars didn't have GPS in them so I don't know if that has anything to do with it - I cross posted this in the apple community to see if I get any insight there
