We got a notice from ATT that in 60 days they were going to drop our data line for the car. I was wondering if after the 3 year warrenty ends that Ford drops it or is there another reason for it being dropped.

The reason is to make money off of our cars, Ford will be sending you a notice about connected services! I don’t know for sure but it may affect plug and charge for DCFC also.

I haven’t gotten a notice yet. Just over a month until my car reaches 3 years with me. I guess my FDRS rig will start paying for itself afterward? ?‍♂?

Are you referring to the data line for Ford connected services or your hotspot plan?

Never bought the hotspot plan. But they are dropping the phone line number. Does this effect mobile services? Haven't had a update since June. Warranty ran out in April.

Is it the "Premium Connectivity" plan in the Connected Services menu? I think you get a trial period with your car purchase. This is the service that allows streaming music, books, and podcasts through Amazon Alexa without using your phone.

It's been 3.5 years since purchase. I think that was for 30 days, but I could be wrong. I remember discussing it in summer of 21, and we felt we didn't need it.

I'm amazed AT&T provided you service for 3 years without you paying either annually or monthly.

The cellular service that provides OTA and Ford telemetry between the vehicle and the Motorcraft cloud isn't a subscription between you and AT&T. I understood that to be an arrangement between Ford and AT&T.

I suspect that if ATT missed suspending or ending your account during 3 years, they probably are required to provide you notification rather than ending the service immediately.

Most folks don't subscribe to Ford Premium Connectivity. It's $10 monthly.
But if you did, it rides on top of the AT&T service agreement that you would have had to have.

So did the OP have AT&T service for 3 years without being invoiced or even know the connectivity existed?

I would think that the vehicles Hotspot would have been functional all the time.

I’ve had my car for 3.5 years now and haven’t seen anything from AT&T about my line being dropped. I do subscribe to connected navigation and BlueCruise.

There’s the vehicle telemetry that connects the car to Ford. That always works and isn’t part of a subscription.

”Connected” services are extra … things like Connected Navigation (not to be confused with regular navigation … Connected Navigation gets things like real-time traffic so it can route you around problems), WiFi Hot-Spot, Streaming, etc. … all of these are extras that eventually expire after some trial period. I think Connected Navigation was 3 years … but the WiFi Hot-Spot was only a month.

It is 3 years mine expired I renewed it for the navigation the problem is when they renewed it and pushed it down to my car. When I use turn by turn navigation now. There is no voice anymore and the volume on the radio won't go past 4-5 so with road noise you can barely hear it. I do reset and that rarely fixes it anymore. I been living with that since August thinking a reg update of something will fix it but have not had a update since June. @Ford Motor Company can use your help on this I use turn by turn often.
