August 2022 Premium build. The day we got the car (9/23), we got an OTA update to 3.5.2 (small things to prepare for future updates). Since then, no further updates. Is that normal? It seems like people on the board are discussing things that I haven't received. About a week after I got the car, I turned automatic updates on for 2am every night. Since then, automatic updates "automatically" turns itself off, and I have to toggle it back on 1-2 times per week (which is the limit for how often I check). Why does it do that? Should I have received additional updates by now? Thank you!!

Make sure you connect to house Wi-Fi! Also take the times setting off the car will ask before installing. I had my car setup 1 day and overnight but the car never did that. They state if you do multiple days it’s better but the best is no time.

There is widespread misunderstanding of the purpose of the settings.

The schedule does not mean you'll get updates sooner, or at all. The schedule is for when the car should APPLY updates, automatically, that may disable the car for a period of time, like 10 - 30 minutes.

The automatic update selection downloads and applies updates (see schedule note above). If it's turned off, then the update will still be downloaded, but not applied until you choose to apply it.

At least that's my understanding.

I wish that was the case but the updates are somehow bypassing the schedule and Ford is now telling everyone they should be more liberal with the days and time they can occur but I think that’s where the issue is. I believe we should be able to set automatic updates up but also have the car check the server and follow through with the updates at that moment but I see new updates out we are not getting and they are not EA. If you want to update an app or iOS and check they will update immediately. Also the updates information is brief and doesn’t tell you everything it is fixing or changes. More information that Ford provides actually helps them when we can provide appropriate feedback when something changes or goes wrong. It also helps the Ford techs diagnose the issues.
