Breaking news.... one of the owners I know has the exactly the same noise and has just had both half(drive) shafts replaced and ........ the noise is still there and not changed at all!
Thinking more suspension, brake components.

Someone said it almost sounds like something is tapping on the tub in the frunk when turning!
Yesterday I drove around in circles left then right. Most obvious was left, but right is starting too. What I noticed is the sound is coming from the center of the car and not the side, so I don't think it's the CV, nor the suspension. It's possible where the 1/2 shafts connects, but now that appears unlikely. Someone suggested the motor cover and others the motor itself. Isn't fun to be beta testers for a multi-billion dollar company?

Crap. I really don’t like pulling my car apart to not fix the issue. Hopefully more Intel comes in before my service.

So took my car into the dealership & they said they could not replicate the noise. I am so floored with this car. Now it has some kind of electrical issue due to a few fault error codes I am getting with the car. I have owned many German cars with none of these issues.

We received the car in Feb. 2021, so I am thinking December 2020
Got it, I feel better, no offense, if it were a car made recently I would be more upset that they haven’t figured out some of their “problems”

I bought a 2015 first year Macan at the end of the first year and although other earlier adopters had some issues I didn’t have any, although They had to fix a transaxle a few years in and they extended the warranty to 7 years for that.

first American car in forever and hopefully don’t regret this decision.

good luck

Hi there. Could you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this on my end.

My dealer has had my car for 4 days now for the windshield recall, software update to 1.7.1 and to replace the half axles. They can't seem to figure out what parts to order and to actually order all of the components. They are really awful at communication so i hope they get the repair right the first time. I don't want to have to rely on them to play the guessing game to find out whether it's cv joint, motor, brake pads, rotors etc.

I hate paying for gas in the loaner after not buying it since February.

Also slightly unrelated does anyone know if the 10k mile service is covered by warranty or if there is a service charge associated with it?

It’s not covered by Ford. Your options are: negotiate with the dealer directly and pay them, buy Ford’s service plan, or do it at a 3rd party shop.

How much does this cost for anyone who has had it done?

I have it at the dealers for the recalls, software and axle? noise. The 10K service is inspect the brakes and rotate tires. Shouldn't cost much.

Experiencing the same noise as everyone else on this thread. Started on the left and now on the right. Gave the dealer the feedback I have read in this thread when I dropped it off. They said they are going to replace both of the half shafts, but they are on nationwide backorder so ETA is TBD. They can’t do the glass recalls until sometime next year because they need the body shop and glass company so I just had the software updates done….and now my large screen is staying black or just frozen so I can’t adjust anything and no service appointments available until January 5th. Hoping for better luck in 2022!!

I have the problem with the centre screen but if you do the reset then it should work OK.

You can see how to do it here -
