I have a 2021 AWD job 1 build. I occasionally noticed ticking from the front recently when turning. Well that quickly escalated tonight. Leaving a stoplight as I sped up to about 30 mph. I felt like my front end was going to fall apart. Now the right front area makes a terrible clunky knocking noise which gets worse when I turn.

With 85K on the odometer I'm out of warranty. Anyone ever tackled this themselves? I want to try and I'm capable but I'm not finding anything on the Internet that lists any other parts needed besides the axle. Ugh.

There's several on here with repair manuals that can provide instructions (including myself). I can post them later today if nobody beats me to it. Shouldn't be any harder than replacing the CV shafts on a front wheel drive car.

Thank you! I know I'll need a seal, and motor oil since it is leaking. I've replaced axle shafts before on other cars and actually already replaced the front hub on this car already.

Here are the repair manual instructions for the front drive shafts and seal. This is from an offline manual, so if Ford has updated the procedures, these instructions would not contain the new information.

You shouldn’t really be touching anything that’s part of the HV system which the motor -part of front transmission - is without proper training and safety equipment, insulated tools, PPE, testers and then, once installed, will probably need programming.

Thanks but did you read the service guides from ford? This does not involve or touch anything related to the high voltage system. It is simply the outer CV axle.

I think you will probably need a new axle nut, as I believe they are single use nuts.
