I'm experiencing a weird situation with my 2023 GT and wondering if the battery is over charging or the percentage display is inaccurate, I usually charge to 90% daily however have charged to 100% less than 6 times and on each usage after charging to 100% I can drive an astounding amount of miles before the car drops to 99% then afterwards it does appear to drop in percentage as you would expect but that first percent at 100% seems to be off by about 3% or so, see images of the drive today, 44° in Minneapolis

1% gave me roughly 15.6 miles drive, the 2nd percentage gave me 3.9 miles driven..

Can or does the battery need be recalibrated?

Did you precondition? That always makes a difference for my car as to how quickly the first percent or two drops.

I did not precondition however I did this drive about 2 hours after it had reached 100% plugged in at home using an autel charger

@Mach-Lee is an expert in this area, but I will share my opinion.

Battery capacity increases when it is warm, and decreases when it is cold. So if you charge the car to 100%, that might be 88 kWh (assuming you have less than 100% SoH). If you charged the car in a fairly warm garage, but then are driving where it is very cold, the battery capacity could actually decrease as you drive. So as the battery cools, it may have a maximum capacity of 85 kWh, for example. Even though you are using capacity, as the battery cools the BMS thinks the SoC is still at 100%.

So it stays there for longer because of - winter. And you live in the Great White North, almost. ?

There is some hysteresis in the SoC at 100% so it doesn't drop to 99% as soon as you start the car. How long it sits there can be affected by temperature changes. It also depends how balanced the pack is at 100%.

But as everyone else is saying, it's normal. No problems here.

I know! I experienced this the other day as well for the first time. I used to have a dual motor Volkswagen and it would go down to 99 after about 5 miles ?
