Is there someone that would be able to help me with this? I bought my car used while the program was still going on. I reached out to Ford and they told me that the previous owner had already claimed it. Because I purchased from a dealership, I didn’t have any way of getting in contact with the previous owner.

The program was one adapter per VIN, so unfortunately the complimentary adapter for your vehicle would have shipped to the person who owned when the order was placed.

Thanks for Ford for doing this and thanks to you for the quick response. Just a bit of a bummer.

That’s what I was afraid of. When I called they stated that they hadn’t shipped the adapter for my VIN yet but because I wasn’t the person that put in the order they wouldn’t update the address. Even if I provided a proof of purchase, which seemed weird.

I received my Tesla Version adapter in September 2024 and I thank Ford for that. It was my understanding at that time that those adapters were subject to a recall and should not be used, and that a Lectron replacement was on the way. I have not received a Lectron at this time. Is it still coming or did I misunderstand something? In the meantime I am hesitant to use the original Tesla adapter.
Only June 2024 delivery.

Thank you. I guess that was not clear. I was lead to believe all of those original "Tesla" manufactured adaptors were defective.

I placed an order for an adapter last year on February 29th, I still have not received it. I did receive an email from Ford in November 2024 that the adapter had shipped, but the link in the email did not work and the tracking number was invalid on the Fedex website.

I called Ford Support in November and they told me that the email was sent in error, that my adapter had not shipped yet and that I would receive one in the future.

Fast Forward to January or February 2025 I called Ford Support again and opened a ticket. After a few days someone from Ford Support called me to let me know that the adapter was shipped and had been delivered back in November; That agent instructed me to go outside (months later) to try to locate it. Obviously there was no adapter on my doorstep or anywhere in my yard. I asked the agent to escalate this further. A week later I received a form letter outlining how Ford did what they were supposed to do that they would not assist further. The letter suggested that if I would like to have one I should order and pay for it from the Ford Parts website, but it also helpfully mentioned that they are out of stock and had no information of when they would become available.

This whole thing feels like a big middle finger from Ford and that I have been strung along for over a year.

Can you assist with this?

When I saw this Ford/Lectron variant I just had to try it, so I bought one. It arrived really quick. Now I have a decent collection:

It's by far the easiest to use out of all the adapters I have. I like the design and weight compared to all the others I've tried.

Thumbs up from me Ford! I wish this had been my free one...I got the Ford/Tesla one for that and it's just so awkward to use compared to every other one I've tried.

Tesla Adapters - GOOD. Ford in-car Navigation not showing Tesla charging stations - BAD
Tesla Adapters - GOOD. Not being able to precondition on the way to a Tesla charging station - BAD
En route preconditioning - GOOD. Not telling your customers it's a PAID feature - BAD
Cabin Motion sensor - GOOD. Having the car switch the feature to ACTIVE on its own - BAD
Aggressive regen - GOOD. Having the car switch to a less aggressive mode on it's own - BAD (and CRASH!!!)

My adapter does not say FORD on it so I assume I have the old one which I am not supposed to use. How and when can I expect the replacement from Ford?

Ford did this one almost right. we all know the supply restrictions and the impact that had on our delivery times.

Now if you could just fix the OTA updates for us 2021 job 1 owners it would be great.
In the past week (March 28, 2025) I have now received BC 1.3 and an OTA to manage the Gateway module to prevent drainage of the 12v battery. Thanks Ford.

Bummer that I never knew this. I guess I bought my MME too late. I just bought one a few weeks ago because I got a note they were back in stock with Ford. Seemed steep, but it does seem fairly robust.

No, your adapter should be fine. Not all of the Telsa manufactured adapters (which are the ones that don't have Ford stamped on them) were bad. The ones that were bad Ford sent notices to those customers to send their back.
