Hey all,
I was recently driving a short distance, parked the car to buy some lunch, and notice a Restraint control module warning message in FordPass, which did not show on the screen while driving. I thought, well, maybe a temporary software glitch. When I started the car again to drive to work, the driver screen remained black. Tried to restart and reset SYNC, but nothing helped.
The same evening when I started the car again, all was fine. No errors, but an update was ready to be installed (24-PU0302-BAT-DR). The update then installed fine, during the scheduled time at night. And for 3 days, all was working fine.
Then, the morning of day 4, I stop at a bakery to buy lunch (again), and notice multiple error messages coming from FordPass:
- The Anti-lock Brake system has detected a fault and is disabled
- Tire pressure system warning
- Lighting system warning
- Restraint control module warning
Of course, when I came back and started the car, the driver screen remained black. I scheduled the next possible appointment at the dealer, which is Tuesday next week. It also installed another update ( 24-PU0301-BLM-PE ) the same day.
The screen did not come back this time, and conditions are worsening.
- The blinkers are skipping blinks or don't blink at all (sometimes),
- got the 12-v battery drain and low 12-V warnings. These seem to have resolved after charging the car from 40% to 80%
All the other messages are still popping up after driving for a few min.
My dealer thinks it's a failed software update.
Does anyone have an idea what could cause this? A broken module?
Ford also rolled out FordPass 5 a few days before (Europe), and I re-installed PAAK.
