Ugh, the Blue Oval Network and Plug & Charge are a pain. I bought my 2021 two weeks ago, certified pre-owned. I was told I could use it by the dealership and that I would have Ford credits (not true).

I activated my Blue Oval Network trial, got the verification email, confirmed on the FordPass app it was active, yet I couldn't toggle on Plug & Charge, kept saying "Something went wrong". I tried selecting the station directly through the map but was told "Account Suspended or Deactivated" with an option to Activate it, which when done would take me to the Connected Services page showing it was already active.

I finally called ford and after being rerouted to "marketing" he told me "Oh you aren't the first owner so you can't use Plug & Charge" (so stupid) and then was going to do a ticket escalation to see what the Blue Oval Network error was all about since everything looked good from the Ford side. I finally just asked him "What is the purpose of the BON?" and he said it was just a one stop shop so you didn't have to install all the other apps and setup accounts. That's cool, but I had already done that anyway and was using the respective apps when I charged publicly, so I deactivated the trial and just pretend Blue Oval Network doesn't exist, and am happier for it ?
And especially as far as 9 can tell they only support EA so what’s the point, other than plug and charge? And that doesn’t get you the EA subscription rate.

The "Blue Oval Charge Network" showed up but it won't let me toggle plug and charge on. I called and apparently only the first owner of the car can use plug and charge? Basically the same answer RKinWA got above. WTF @Ford Motor Company ?

Thinking about this more, if it says you're not the current owner and the FordPass guide can't help fix that, you might have to do a master reset. I know it's a major pain but that might be the only way.

Guess what just showed up today. BOCN. I was able to activate my trial again. AND it appears I might have 250KW 357kw of free charing lol. Again. I'm also now listed as the owner and can see the, albeit, very vague previous service records. BOCn expires Feb 2024. BBBBWWAAA may the odds be for everyone else as well.

I'm saying this as a friend, and also not completely sure if this is even possible - return the car. Say hello, i would like to return a faulty product.

I wish I could go back in time and not buy this thing. Not worth the headache, and the car is 100% not what it is advertised to be. This is not a tech-based, easily updatable, car of the future.

This is Fords half baked, needs a few more years of research and development, rushed to the market car that happens to be electric.

Most people on this forum hate me for this opinion - but a lot of them are also Ford bootlickers.

How did you get that? I bought my car used and have gotten conflicting narratives about Blue Oval from MPH, the dealer, etc.

I'm able to use Blue Oval with SemaConnect chargers, but not EA chargers.

I had it active previously, though it expired in the end of Feb. Car went in for service on some recalls. I bought it used in Jan this year. I ended up with a flood of confusing emails when I added the car to my fordpass / ford account. It did work for a while and I was able to charge at EA with it and used 100ish KW or something like that. However P&C pretty much never worked on chargers that were supplying me with more than 60kw charge rate. So what i would do is 'activate' the EA charger I knew would feed 125kw. Then FP would just remove that KW from my balance. You should get 250KW for buying the car, even used. Though it might have been a catch as I bought it under it's 2 years of service. It went into service in 2/21 I bought 1/23. BOCN expired in 2/23 for me. Just a few min ago i got a mail from Sirus, thanking me for buying the car and 'here's your 3 month trial'. That got me looking in FP and sure enough I was able to activate (previously totally missing) the connected services. It looks to have given me 250KW + whatever was left from the first 250KW. I wont get to try to charge for a couple days though. P&C worked on 1 out of 4 chargers for me. And that 1 it worked on was always slow, sub 60kw. So It's just activate a charger and have to do a little dance with the car and plug and then it'd charge. I did put a CC in FP for BOCN back in Jan this year. This time around I didn't even need to mess with that, just clicks through the app.

There are some people on here where that would really be useful advice, and I am so thankful the only issues I have had 'so far' is with Plug & Charge and Blue Oval, neither one even worth a second phone call. Also very thankful I had confirmation my HVJB was replaced right before I bought the vehicle. And also thankful I have gotten all updates and everything is fully up to date. I count myself lucky.

Besides, once I pay off the vehicle, charger, and charger installation costs, I will save almost $63 per month in gas! Can't put a price on that! ?
