I have been using Blue Cruise for 2 weeks now. When I click the blue cruise button on my steering wheel, the cruise control speed will match the current speed what I am on. For example, if I am currently driving 55mph and I activate blue cruise the control speed will be 55mph. The typical freeway is 65 mph so I have to keep pressing that "+" button to increase speed.

Is there some setting that I clicked to cause this?
Why does it even have this cruise control speed? Can this be disabled when bluecruise is activated?
How can it increase or decrease speed automatically

thanks so much.

If you have the Route 1 then I don't think you have Blue Cruise, although knowing Ford they are prob shipping those with it now too..

When you push the CoPilot button it will set your cruise at the speed you are going, just as any car when you turn on cruise control. If you want it to set at 65, then drive to 65 then turn on the system.. Or you can turn it on at the lower speed and once your car sees the next speed sign it will adjust if you have adaptive cruise turned on. There is a setting in the adaptive cruise control settings were you can tell the car to always go 0-20mph faster than posted limits.

My route 1 was delivered 2 weeks ago, it comes with blue cruise. I can see it turn blue in my front screen.

How does it work with stop and go traffic?

Every Mach-E is equipped with adaptive cruise control, which can help with stop and go traffic by using a forward facing radar to detect the vehicles ahead of your vehicle in your lane of traffic.

This is different than BlueCruise, which helps with steering.

Check out this diagram which identifies the different buttons on your steering wheel:

Ford Mustang Mach-E BlueCruise - speed issues not matching the freeway limit 1636433600185

A: This turns cruise control on or off. You configure the MODE of cruise control (Normal, Adaptive, Intelligent) via the large center screen, referred to as the "SYNC" display.

B: You toggle this up or down to set the cruising speed. When you activate cruise control, using button A, the set speed is configured to match the speed you were already doing. If you have intelligent cruise control turned on, then camera imagery and mapping data are used to adjust your cruising speed to match speed traffic sign changes.

C: This button adjusts your distance from the vehicles ahead of you while you're using adaptive or intelligent adaptive cruise control. When cruise control is turned off, it doesn't do anything.

H: This button turns the lane keeping system (LKS) on or off. When cruise control is off, LKS only helps to alert you when you are departing the lane without signaling, or it can gently try to keep you in the lane in that situation, depending on your SYNC settings.

When cruise control is ON, then LKS can additionally provide lane centering and hands-free steering, depending on your SYNC settings and if you are in a BlueCruise hands-free zone.

Do check out the manual on this stuff... There's a LOT of driver assistance functions in the Mach-E. Probably more than nearly any other Ford product currently available. It's a lot to learn but very important.

The automatic speed (part of intelligent cruise control) doesn't kick in initially. It only automatically sets the speed if the speed limit changes.

So in your case, if you stay on the same highway, with no speed limit changes, you'll never see it set the speed automatically.

Lane centering is included on every mach e. It is denoted with an icon showing hands on the steering wheel. Blue cruise has the same function as lane centering, but it will very explicitly say hands free

Everyone’s turns blue, that does not mean you have blue cruise. Blue cruise is the system that allows you to drive completely hands free on select freeways. Copilot 360 gives you the same basic experience but you have to touch the steering wheel from time to time. Still gives you the blue bubble around your car.

Also, in the settings is an option to configure cruise control for "adaptive" which does not read speed signs, and "intelligent" which does.

On a highway where BlueCruise is enabled, it will show a handsfree picture instead of the hands on picture. Numerous threads show this.

The only thing that BlueCruise does is allow you to remove your hands. All these other features mentioned like Stop and Go have zero to do with BlueCruise. I had Stop and Go in my 2018 Fusion Energi. It works great.

They've actually changed that in the software coming on the newer builds. Now Intelligent Cruise Control is gone and there's a toggle for speed sign recognition under Adaptive Cruise Control.

when I activate Blue Cruise while I am currently driving 50mph on the freeway, but on the right of the dashboard, it shows speed limit with a white sign usually has 65 mph. How come the speed control doesnt go up to 65 and gets stuck at 50 even with no traffic?

Because that’s how cruise control has always worked on every car.

When you turn it on, it sets the cruise at your current speed.

If you want it set at 65, turn it on when you’re going 65. Why would you turn on cruise control at 55 if you want to go faster?

Also this isn’t blue cruise:

This is what blue cruise looks like:

There is an intelligent cruise option that WILL adjust your cruise control speed to that of the speed limit signs. It’s an option you have to enable; just be cautious mine will sometimes read 20 as 70 in a couple very specific locations.
