Did an experiment and here are the results. Note I was able to open the trunk from far more than the 30 feet but I did have line of sight of the car, so no obstructions.

In the picture below clearly the FordPass developers have indicated that Bluetooth is required for windows and f/t-runk. Everything else works without bluetooth.

This is getting silly. I never said you need BT to start or unlock your car. Those features don't use BT. Turn off BT. Open the REMOTE CONTROLS menu item in the FordPass. Try and open your windows or the frunk or tailgate. Starting your car, locking the doors does not use BT. Please let me know if you can open the Frunk from Fordpass with BT turned off.
I agree. My BT controls are frunk, hatch and windows also. Maybe something like this long range transmitter

I suspect that the reason the windows and f/t-runk are Bluetooth only is that the engineers thought you should be within visible range watching the results of the actions. Opening something isn't a problem but closing something could present a danger to pet or human. Though only minor.

With 300 Ft of coverage it should work, thanks.
This is only for a PC and it's connected peripherals (keyboard and mouse etc) Also, its 300ftSq so it would only transmit about 17.3 feet! Not an option.

Thanks. Saved me some time and possibly money! I probably could use a math expert also.

I don’t know how the Bluetooth connection and handshaking process works, but if it’s similar to how WiFi is, a larger antenna on one side will not help you. You would need a larger/higher gain antenna on both the car and the phone, or a repeater/relay setup (two devices interconnected). If you just put a larger antenna on one device it’s akin to talking to someone across a river except you have a megaphone and they are whispering. One side can hear just fine but there’s no discernible response from them.

I would suggest you order one of the BT amplifiers you found from Amazon and see if it works. If it doesn't return it and try another. My guess is that the product out there state audio as the application because that's the most likely use case. But they may work with other BT connection types. (I'm not a BT expert)

My Fordpass Bluetooth (BT) connection works with my 23MME when I'm withing 20 feet or so. But when I'm in my home office 75 feet away, with wall obstructions it doesn't. That's understandable. What I would like to install is a Bluetooth extender that would extend, amplify my BT signal from my phone to reach the MME when I'm in the office. I have looked at some BT amplifiers but they seem to be audio only. I have a BT antenna on my PC but it obviously isn't boosting the signal enough if at all. BT is enabled on my PC and my phone. Is there any device that can boost or extend the BT signal that would connect to the MME?
Why would you need to use the controls more than 20’ away? The intention is to have you standing right next to the car so you can observe it and use the controls safely.

For security reasons, I don’t think a Bluetooth extender will work because of the additional latency (PAAK has strict time limits to preclude the use of a relay device).

Why could you possibly care why I want to use the controls more than 20 feet away? You just can't help yourself, can you?

So a somewhat related question, I would love to be able to open the frunk without having to actually get in the car to do it. Is there a way I can connect the phone so the BT remote works but it's not set up as PAAK? I was getting notifications every 20 seconds that the phone was connected so I stopped using it as a key. Thanks.

Perhaps Lee wanted to know your intended use so he could potentially offer a suggestion to accomplish what you want to do...? ?

If using Android, set the Paak notification to be silent and minimized. Don't turn OFF the notification, as this may reduce reliability of phone as a key due to your phone's energy saving heuristics.

I think that's how I had it set but was still getting connection notifications every 2 seconds. Maybe I'll try that again though. Thanks.
