Bluetooth on phone when making calls stops working.

I have a new Mach E GT. I do.love the car except.... My phone is connected to the car for both phone and Android Auto. I do not use PAAK, because it connects to my car from the kitchen. Whenever I either make a call or receive a call the connection stops working and can only talk on the phone itself. The Bluetooth symbol goes dark.and will not turn on again until the call has ended.

Any suggestions before I.go.back to the dealer. Car is a week old.

Your car is off.
You make a call on your phone while in the kitchen.
The audio is in the car?

BTW, PAAK does not do anything with audio.

The call gets transferred to your phone speaker.

Which phone do you have?
How often does this happen?
Have you rebooked your phone?
Have you rebooted Sync?

what phone are you using? are you using wireless android auto or it is connected by cable? is the bluetooth symbol you're referring to the one on the car or the phone? have you used the same phone previously with android auto without any issues?

i also use android auto (pixel 7, android 14) and don't have this issue. at this point it's hard to tell - it could be either the phone or the car. it would be worth testing the bluetooth connection separate from android auto; either unplug the cable if using one or turn off the android auto option (settings->phone list->your phone->disable android auto setting) and see if the bluetooth connection operates correctly in a few calls.

regarding PaaK: this "connection" to the car is separate from the media/phone connection and can be used simultaneously. fordpass will show "connected" to the car but this just means it is within the BLE range of the car and maintains a minimal presence. if you do want to use PaaK it is worth testing to make sure it only unlocks when you approach within a couple of meters.
