Not speaking for the OP but i can see a scenario where you have personal phone and work phone. WOrk phone these days has lots of security stuff and may restrict personal use - so have both. Driving and listening to personal music /audio but calls on office phone come in. This scenario exists at several work places I am aware of
I have exactly that situation. Fortunately, my employer also has a pretty strict “no phone calls while driving” policy that pretty much everyone follows (“Sorry I missed your meeting Jane, I was stuck in traffic in the expressway.” Is completely accepted, and expected. “Sorry for the road noise, I’m in my car.” will get you a “That’s ok. Focus on driving. We’ll fill you in when you’re not driving.”)

Do most cars let you use two phones through Bluetooth at the same time?
I am too lazy to go check my Fusion with MFT right now, and I rarely need this in there, but in the gf's C-Max with Sync 3, you can absolutely do this for the specific combination in question of "one doing BT Audio, the other doing phone".

Why? Because we have situations of wanting her phone to be the phone, but mine to stream audio. She almost never cares about streaming audio from her phone but I do, and it's nice in cases like "she left her purse in the car with her phone when she went to do something and I'm sitting in the car listening to my phone".

It's too early for me to go through rereading the original post on the thread but the way this works in Sync 3 is you have two options - "Connect for phone and audio" and "Connect for audio" (forget the exact wording). There is no "Just connect for phone." So yeah you sometimes have to do a little dance depending on preference order in the list and what devices are there at what time. Not quite sure why a "Connect for phone" isn't there by itself but I'm guessing there's some weird chipset issue or something; I can't imagine it being done on purpose on the software side like that.

I pay for SiriusXM. I like it. While the audio quality leaves something to be desired, there is programming I enjoy. Also, SiriusXM TravelLink is very useful in cars with navigation. That way, the navigation system knows where there’s congestion and will automatically reroute you.
Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I don't use SXM much now for music, especially since wireless android auto. But I do enjoy some non-music programming on it. The audio quality is my biggest gripe with it, and its been crappy since Sirius and XM merged.

However, I only pay $99 a year for every station and streaming. I won't pay any more than this because of the audio quality.

With over 34 million subscribers, yes SXM is very popular. Are there any new cars besides Tesla that don’t offer it?
what Tesla models don't? I had a coworker with a Model S and it had it in there - he even showed me (I asked)... did they just remove it later? genuinely curious. this would be a blocker for me since their proprietary streaming stations are not great.

tbf Sirius audio quality was always crap. XM was much better and they just dropped to Sirius quality after the merger.

you can find some comparisons of these things online still (it was a long time ago)...

XM also used to have real stations with real programming owners, while Sirius was always "terrestrial radio model on satellite"... sadly that's what survived the merger.

I still miss "XM Saturday Night" on Lucy. ?

One for the plug, one for the load.
One for the b*tches, one for the dough.

The narrator bought a new Ferrari yet he’s concerned about feeding his kids? He’s so misogynistic that he refers to women as b———? And what are “plugs” and “loads” anyway? This person has serious issues that they need to work though, not sing about ???

YES!!! XM was SOOO much better than Sirius. You could tell the people that worked there were passionate about what they did. The audio quality was higher the content was better, just a better all around product.

I actually went to cancel after the merger and that's when they started offering me a discounted rate. And I've never paid full price since.

As I've been settling in to Mach-E ownership, I've been finding an annoyance with the way the SYNC menus are structured, specifically around Bluetooth Audio, phone pairing, etc.

My scenario is simply that I want to listen to streamed audio and podcasts, and occasionally make phone calls.

The complication is that the phone I want to stream Bluetooth Audio from is "Phone #1" (an iPhone), and the phone I want to make phone calls with is "Phone #2 (an Android).

Right now, if I'm driving down the road listening to audio from Phone #1, and I want to call someone, I have to dive through menus to get to the phone select screen, then select Phone #2, then "Connect Phone" then wait, then make the call, and when the call concludes, I need to then go back through the menus, click Phone #1, click "Connect Bluetooth Media."

This is pretty annoying having to flip flop phones during a drive, especially on longer drives.

I can't seem to figure out how to pair both devices simultaneously and designate one as the primary device for phone calls. Am I missing something, or does SYNC not support this (yet?)?

Both of these devices have the same FordPass account signed in, and both are active PAAKs... so I assume the vehicle does have some way of seeing 2 phones at once for PAAK.
Fwiw, not that it’s a perfect solution, but pretty sure you can use audio commands to do all that. Press “talk” button on steering wheel and say the command. In my 2015 Fusion, we do this all the time with passengers but honestly once one phone is set up for media streaming and the other is connected as a phone, the system just works.

Nobody should be paying full price. A simple phone call at renewal time will get you promo rates (currently $5/mo).
As horrible as Sirius is with their 1990s MP3 compression, nobody should be paying anything per month to suffer through their service.

This is so off topic now sorry but I have to - I just found these 2007 XM pictures from my old 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid that show the kind of nonsense XM would let people get away with that you'd never see on the extremely "corporate" SiriusXM now.

Squizz. Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long time. Haha. This was my favorite channel.

Grant Random still works there. But they barely have him on air anymore. He's the only DJ I care to hear on there these days.

Call...Cancel...accept 3 month free...rinse and repeat.

Easy peasy.
