I am thinking that I will have to convert my 5.0 V8 to run on natural gas eventually. Gasoline will become hard to find and expensive. I wonder if you can get a natural gas filling station installed at your house.

ICE motors with carburetors can be retrofitted with bigger jets to run on NG, LP, or even Methane (which you can generate at home,but probably not compress safely).... but they usually still have to start with gasoline or more flammable fluid to get the airflow going thru an ICE motor. The NG, LP, or Methane also do not burn as hot, so you would have much lower power.... and are fairly corrosive.

retrofitting a fuel injected ICE motor with computer fuel mix and timing controls might be more 'problematic'.

If you want to go to all the trouble to convert a gasoline car that you love.... consider a brushed DC electric motor. You can get more torque with less software at far lower cost than an AC motor/controller/inverter.... but no regen braking. Great for drag racing, but not for range or brake pads in stop and go traffic.

I love this ... not because I want to have it on all the time, which is the nice part that you can control it, but because I can confuse the crap out of people and piss off all the cry babies.

My name went on the "notify when available" list.

Where I live, people a bit younger than I, often times outfit their diesel trucks with train horns. My neighbor (in acres terms) has a son who's friends always drive by and blast the horn. I giggle each time I hear it because I know there's someone around here who's skin crawls with anger.

I love the sound of a well tuned engine going thru the gears, or downshifting into a corner.... but that sound is a result of engineered performance in a well-tuned motor to maximize airflow. Adding a speaker to an EV that has a single speed transmission has no real purpose other than novelty.

I totally agreed that there will be some great ICE classics out there... and (a few) people will continue to collect them, and maybe even drive them, if they also have 'fucktons' of money to get gasoline 25-30 years from now....

Gas will probably not be that bad, many thought the same thing when we switched from leaded to unleaded. Many conversions for ethanol or propane or (something new) would be my guess

Gas for boats isn’t going anywhere.

Same with diesel for Semis.

Even if every vehicle sold is electric, there will still be a crap ton of used ICE cars for decades.

Maybe the owner LS swapped it? I kid, I kid, kinda. We live in a world where at least one person is going to put a big fat supercharged mid engine V8 in their MME. You won't get a smog check requirement with a VIN tied to a MME.

On topic: It'll be interesting to see what Shelby American comes up with for external sound. Vince @ Shelby said his body(mind) actually feels the shifts in the sound.
