Ok, my GT has always looked like the "after 6.8" picture that you show, what am I doing wrong? I only have co-pilot assist, not BC capable, if that matters. I would rather have the speedo in the center, but I was not aware that is possible. How have I survived all this time looking at the car in the center of the display? ? How do I get it to show the speed in the center ?
Oh and I got 6.7.0 last night...
Lane centering needs to be off and possibly lane keeping assist as well. Those rarely work for me on our roads so they’re virtually always off anyway. Oh and your car needs to be a pre 2023 iirc.

am i trippin? My 2021 always had the car in the middle and the speed to the side ?‍♂. I like it, but then again, I don't really care that much either way
That’s probably because you have lane keep and distance indicator enabled.

Ah - those and distance indicator, thank you all. Now that I have turned off several safety features, I can see how fast I am going. I feel much safer now ?

??‍♂??‍?

Although I turn off the distance thing. Hate the blue box. Wish it was something more modern, like chevrons or something.

It’s a matter of preference. The update, albeit unintended, takes that away. I can’t easily see the speed in the “normal” configuration. If the speed and car icon were flipped, it’d be far better. And since none of the ADAS stuff works full time around here I’m “forced” to drive in the speed only regime anyway. Might as well have the nicer looking display.

LOL if the car was slightly off center to the left and the speed mirrored its position to the right of center, the display would look more balanced *and* be functional. For some reason, some person seemed to think cramming everything hard to the right where the information is obfuscated was a good idea, leaving so much screen real estate unused to the left of center. ?‍♂?

lol. I wouldn't call lane centering a safety feature. It's more of a "I'm a lazy person that would prefer a self driving car" feature. Pre-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and pre-collision steering assist are still on.

I never use that as many of the roads I drive on are not clearly defined. It will think a patch on the asphalt is the edge of the road, and decide to follow that. The distance indicator was turned on more recently, it is somewhat useful in traffic. The blue color could go away and change to a color once you get closer IMO.

it's a safety feature, it will correct you if you are drifting out of the lane. I think it's one of the best features to show up on cars in a long time, imagine someone not paying attention and drifting towards the center lane only to have the car correct them back into their lane.

I'm beginning to think these features should be standard on all vehicles and not able to disabled, just like seat belts.

It is to give room for the upcoming Oil Pressure, Air Fuel Ratio, Axel Temp, etc like my Dark Horse!

maybe, but where I live aging road markings and lack of consistency on certain rural roads would drive the lane keeping systems (and driver) crazy if they won't turn off. Sometimes the road markings are so bad that the dominant lane-keeping error signal can come from the arcing shadows of cables between telephone poles. The sane driver knows when to turn it all off.

that's weird, for me when it can't read the lanes it just turns off until it can read them again ?‍♂
