I'm not sure if this is a "breaking in" issue, but I've noticed that when the break pads are engaged I get some pretty significant shutter. I rarely need to do a hard stop, but when the time has come it is something I've noticed. Anyone else experiencing this, or have any advice other than going to the dealer?
Mine does this at 100% soc than goes away guessing it's the regen freaking out

I live down the street from you. I resemble that comment. ?

Anyway. My rotors turn orange when I wash the car. I'm using softened water, maybe that accelerates the process. But they clean up when I remember to do an intentional hard brake.
Same here.
I've had rusty brakes both times it rained in Chandler in 2022. My FFE requires the hard emergency stops to knock it off, otherwise it grabs like a MME at under 5mph. Damn near hit the steering wheel with my face when it happens. Wife tells me "cars acting funny again". I tell her "brace yourself, you're not going to like this next move".

I've had this shudder from time to time on my MME. Usually right after doing something with the tires (turns out this thread might be removing one more thing I tell the dealer to look at) and I've dealt with rusty EV brakes for over a decade. For some reason (probably my baked brain) it didn't click, only grabbed like crazy lol

Mine is 5 month old SR RWD with 2600 miles and I drive carefully and defensively. Notice a shudder twice when the deceleration is more than regen can handle. My other car is a '17 Volt with 50k and no issues on original brakes. Is there a TSB yet for this issue? If not, I will take it to my trusted mechanic for a new set of brakes.
