And doesn’t really keep great time. Sure, it may look good but quartz Timex keeps better time.
As long as I wind my ‘72 daily, it keeps time very close to perfect. I only reset the time on the standard/daylight shifts and if I let it go for two days without winding. The clock in my cellular phone checks in multiple times a day to reset its time because of 5% and 10% tolerance electronics. ?‍♂?

Forget the watch for a moment, you were awaiting your Chick-Fil-A delivery? ?
Finally I was going to ask how many nuggets, but wanted to see how keen our group is these days.

Or common sense. ?
Says my wife anytime she looks at my winder and box. lol
I remind her my previous ‘running average’ was 22 pieces for 7 years. Then we had a kid so I cut back to 18. Now I go out of the house a couple times a week and usually end up with the same 3 watches seeing sunlight. Every week I get a little bit more logical. Aging to the point where I need glasses to read almost any of them is the worst part.

Seems really expensive for a watch that can't connect to your phone.
I have my ever present timekeeper aka smartphone so need for a watch. I have 2 nice mechanical wristwatches, Rolex and Hamilton, I don't wear anymore.

And they work for about a month or 2. The Breitling will outlast you.
I’m not new at this. I have knock off Rolexs that are still ticking 30 years later and keep time as good as my Apple Watch. What t they’re not though is a Breitling or Rolex. Where you would notice the difference is up close and when feeling it. The genuine watch will have a lot more heft. Plus, if you have a watch with a quartz movement it wont be ticking the same as a Rolex or Breitling. And the finish on the fake is good but not Rolex or Breitling quality. Deception from a distance.

They’re fun to have but they’re not real. There also not the junk you get from the folks that stop you on the streets of Taipei, New York, etc. Those will be in the trash in a few months.

EDIT: To be clear @ralteredstates, I genuinely like the looks of te Breitling Mustang watch. It’s a nice watch and it’s a Breitling. There’s nothing quite like them. Hmmm I can always buy two: the knock off for show and the real one stays home safe and sound. ;)

I am far from new to this either. Not trying to show off but I have multiple Rolex's, Omega's, Cartier's etc. I have purchased knock off watches in the past and most don't last very long. They might look nice but the mechanisms aren't even decent Chinese mechanisms. I had a knock-off Oris that lasted 2 months before it died. One of the reasons I like the real ones is they can hold their value and even go up (Iie: Rolex's). The copies are worthless. I don't get my watches to impress other people. I could care less if the watch is noticed. I get them because I like them. A knock-off watch is to impress someone else. Nope. And as far as an Apple watch.....I have one....it's not for me. My wife loves hers. My phone does more than the Apple watch so why have both? It doesn't bother me to take my phone out of my pocket. Wearing a bluesy today. No one but me knows that.

You have to go to a reputable knock off shop. No, seriously. :)

My cell phone may have more tolerance than my Rolex……

But when I set the time on my Rolex, I use my phone to check the time.

My last two watch purchases are both Citizen EcoDrives. One hacks off the atomic clock radio signal and the other hacks off GPS satellite signal. They’re always right. I lived for years in the airline world. 12:00:59 was on time; 12:01 was a minute late. Oh, and they don’t need winding or battery changes.
I delved into the Omega watches a bit but didn’t buy one when I realized that not wearing it everyday meant that it wasn’t right And even then, it wouldn’t be as right as what I had. They do look nice though.

That’s when you get a watch winder. Or in my case you have to remember to wind it every couple of days.

I love my Night Hawk EcoDrive. I only had to replace the capacitor once in the last 20 years.

It may be a real Breitling, but it’s “not a real Mustang!”

(Sorry, couldn’t resist ? )

Meanwhile back in my blue collar universe….I was given a Seiko by a company 40 years ago as a gift for hard work. It’s still keeping perfect time as is the solar Seiko I wear daily. Both are made in Japan vintage. I wear a watch cause it can’t haul in invasive messages or robo calls or try to ram AI down my throat. I do admire the expensive time pieces as markers of precision design and assembly.
