Hi Jeff, I just started installing the front pony and ran into the same issue. Fortunately, I haven’t applied the adhesive or installed the caps yet—I wanted to test it first. On my 2022 Mach-E Select (low type lights), the emblem doesn’t light up. I connected the wires white to white and black to black, pushed them in until I heard a click, so I assumed the connection was solid. Let me know if you’ve had any luck getting yours to work or if you found a solution

I tried for literally hours. Double checked everything all connections. It’s a pretty straightforward install not hard. But I couldn’t get it to work. I’m sorry you had the same problem! Very frustrating,I was looking forward to it for months. I tried everything I could think of and couldn’t get it to light up.

Jeff, sorry about this issue. I have no idea what is going on since I am only shipping these out. I will have to ask Bruce but what I can do is when I return in a couple of days, is connect one up in my car to see what I get and try to figure out what the issues is if it does not work. I am sure we will get to the bottom of it.

Hi Mark, with a bit of pressure, the center section where the clips are does sit flush. However, the ends don't quite make full contact. If you look closely at the image, the area around the pony's head is touching, but there's a noticeable gap between that and the center of the emblem. No matter how much pressure I apply, it doesn't seem to close the gap. I'm wondering if the double-sided tape might be a bit too thick in that area. It feels securely attached overall, so I’m not too worried, but I’m unsure how it’ll hold up to rain and weather over time.
I have the rear pony from EV-Vida and have the exact same problem. The nose and tail lift off the panel a little bit. Guess it's just not me. And it's frustrating because I prepped the shit out of that surface. Even taped down the pony for 24 hours and it's still a little off. It's on there pretty good now, but I can imagine that exposed double-sided tape is going to slowly start creeping off. Oh well, it is what it is ?

Mark and I installed the BSKT rear pony on my car a couple months ago with little to no issues. We removed the old badge, picked off the remaining adhesive goobers, surface prepped the area with soapy water then alcohol, and stuck the BSKT badge on! We both leaned heavily on the badge for a couple minutes to ensure full contact and adhesion. I have a picture of the installed pony (below) but I’ll have to grab one from below later this week. No issues as far as I can tell!

On a side note, I’ve received A LOT of compliments on this mod in the past couple months. If you’ve been missing the dopamine hit of random people ogling at your car, I highly recommend this upgrade! It makes for great rear view mirror entertainment.

In the picture, it looks red and white. Is that how it’s supposed to look?

Hi Jim, in my case, the connector was already secured to the wiring harness, and the pony emblem just had the crimped wire ends. I’m guessing the connectors are kept with the harness since they’re easy to lose. You might want to check your wiring harness to see if the connector clip is already attached there.
Thanks and it is exactly as you describe. I surmise the didn’t attach the connector to make it easier to feed the wires through the hole. I haven’t started (or even determined when I’ll start) the surgery yet because, honestly, it scares me.

There is not an issue. Please stop cutting the wire.

BSKT ships the pony with the blank male Molex connector inserted into the female Molex connector After you thread the wires through the front bumper, then take the mail housing and insert the wires. They should go in with minimal effort.

Then you can snap it into the main harness. Trying to insert the crimp with the 2 parts of the Molex connect will be difficult and could cause damage.

I’m wondering if there’s a quick way to “test install” one of these to confirm whether the unit works or not. What I mean by “test install” is to easily access the headlamp plug without significant “surgery”, then just quickly plugging things in to see if the badge lights up?

I would have written back this morning, but I was busy embarrassing myself at a charity golf tournament.

And if anyone was wondering, retiring and practicing golf on a regular basis might not improve your game. I gave up the high blood pressure of work to have the high blood pressure of golf. (But I still made the right choice!). Ha!

Pretty sure you still have to remove all the frunk innards to get to one of the headlight harnesses to plug it in. By then you've done 70% of the work. But if it doesn't work, at least you haven't removed the OG pony, so you have the option of putting everything back and live to fight another day.
