TSB 22-2150 Ford Power-Up Software Update Failure Message And/Or Unable To Update The APIM Or TCU With The FDRS And USB Drive - Module Recovery

Note: Completion of TSB 22-2150 will close this FSA.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM In some of the affected vehicles, an internal error in the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) or Telematics Control Unit (TCU) module software will prevent the receipt of software updates or enhancements for these modules from Ford Power-Up or Lincoln Way. The module will operate as intended otherwise.

SERVICE ACTION Before delivering any new in-stock vehicles involved in this program, dealers are to update the APIM and TCU module software. If either module won’t execute the update, the module needs to go through the recovery process listed in TSB 22-2150, then updated. For sold vehicles, customers will be notified if they have a module with this issue. They will be instructed to make an appointment with their dealer to have this issue corrected. This service must be performed on all affected vehicles at no charge to the vehicle owner.

NOTE: The service action is different between vehicles that are sold and in operation vs. unsold vehicles. Ford can identify modules and VINs that require the recovery process once the vehicles are sold and in operation. Those VINs are included in this program. If a vehicle has not yet been sold, dealers will be able to identify modules requiring recovery by attempting to update the modules.

It's weird because my car is currently at the dealer and they said they did TSB 22-2150. Yet I got the notification...
It won't clear until they submit the warranty claim to ford, and ford processes that claim fully.

So this is the notification of the TSB to the people effected by it. You may have gotten it because they didn't submit paperwork yet like @benk016 suggested or because the list of VINs impacted had already been generated and hasn't been updated in the time since to reflect that yours is good to go now

LOL, I just got this recall notice. I'm now at 3 on the app! My BC isn't working yet but the rest is up to date. I can't imagine having to send it back in.

Thanks for the warranty claim information, that saved me a phone call.

My car has been at the dealership for the last 2 weeks updates won’t go through then ford told my dealership not to do anything until this update I guess this must be the fix because none of the updates for BC or the stuck on 1.7 updates was not working,

(cross-posting this to the various 1.7.1-stuck threads)

Just wanted to post an update here for those in the Boston/New England area that Sentry Ford in Medford was able to get me in and out in 2.5 business days (Thu, Fri, half of Mon) and apply 21P22, 22B08, and 21G01. This is on a Job1, non-EA Select AWD w/ comfort-tech package that had been stuck on the 1.7.1 update since December. Build date early/mid July 2021. Am now on Sync 22095_PRODUCT Rev 421 which I believe is Power Up 2.8.3.

I had purchased all the adapters for the TSB and printed it out, but they were left unopened. I believe I was the 2nd Mach-E that their master tech had done these updates to.

So if it's close (enough) to you, give Sentry Ford in Medford, MA a try!

Also big thanks to @generaltso for getting me some FDRS details over the week so I could see specific progress on the work.

Did anyone complete this CSP?
I called my dealership and got a response "They did not receive the parts from FORD to complete this recall."

Can anyone tell me do we really need any parts for this CSP or is the dealership just trying to avoid completing this update?

Not here, last comms from dealer said they suspect their internet connection is a problem and are upgrading their service. Should be a couple weeks... lame.

@desiato this is good info, I just took my 21 Select AWD in Thursday afternoon here in CA for a Powertrain Malfunction and Campaign 21G01 and 22B08 also show up on the work order. Hopefully I will get my car back sooner than 2 weeks.

Had my 21 rt1 for this update, my dealership has tried for 3 days, they say I have 5 updates needed but it won't go through. They say it sometimes goes through with no problems and others, like myself, nothing but issues. It's just annoying me, they will try again tomorrow, if it doesn't go through they advise me to wait and try again in a couple weeks. I find the issues some of us are having with our MME isn't acceptable, ford has let me down for sure.
