They are still taking orders for 2022 but mentioned orders after may 2022 will likely be “converted” to 2023 down the road and will get the first builds since it’s first come first serve
So I called my dealer in Quebec and he's got a long list of reservations for MY2022 ( with the $7000 rebate) but no VIN's yet. You are correct in that the order books for 2022 are still open and yet they may be converted to 2023s. He said he will call me back early next week with more info. The only other way that some VIN's are possible sooner are due to cancellations. Unfortunately, he said so far no one has cancelled any..

I got a call from my dealership's Sales Manager today (which I'm usually dealing with about the car). He said he is seeing only Premiums being scheduled recently. Their Selects, including my order, haven't been scheduled in several weeks. He said that even him is a bit baffled by that and he will try to get more information and that he is quite puzzled that you can still place orders for the 2022 models even though the 2023 order banks open next month.

They are probably going to convert those new orders and ensure they have enough for first quarter builds. I’m waiting for my premium so that’s good news for me Atleast. I hope for production/build date soon

The guy I deal with on Key West Ford will go on vacations and so am I. We will sync again after I come back. But so far, no updates.

He even called me Yesterday and said that none of his Select orders have been picked up in the past few weeks. Only Premium. And he thinks that is because premium generate more revenue to Ford or something like it.

I guess we will need to exercise patience.

My dealer called on Saturday to let me know that my car has a scheduled build date around sept 15th. Debating now as ordered a select but in the meantime (didn’t think it would get built) ordered a model 3 long range after test driving a Tesla for a day. Not sure which one to take as I’m a bit concerned about the 360km range in the winter

Oh, congrats you were able to get at least a scheduling date!

Regarding the two cats, if the Tesla is guaranteed to come this Year, maybe it's a better choice as you got the long range and the software is more rounded up, if you don't mind losing access to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Tesla has some know quality issues in production (misaligned ports and other things) but software wise and components wise it's a pretty good, even though lacks the awesome looks of Mach-E.

All in All, both cars are pretty good and I guess the Upsides and Downsides of both make it pretty much even, although I'm sure the Mach-E would be cheaper with the Federal incentives which the Tesla does not get, right ?

Yeah going to be a thought decision. Both cars would come in October/November though with the incentive on the Mach-E the Tesla is 20j more expensive. That’s the big debate as I feel I would regret not getting the bigger battery for road tripping and the winter months.

Is your MME AWD or RWD? I guess that the Select with standard battery with just RWD will have a pretty acceptable range. However, with AWD, it might be a bit too little.

Batteries are expensive now and unless a new tech comes (like solid state batteries), they will continue to get costly or even grow in cost in the future.

Also, Tesla's electric engines are more efficient than the ones in MME and they have Heat Pumps, which allows it to be able to get better range.

It's costly but you also get a lot of nice things in return, but you can always cash those discounts now in the MME and them swap for a better MME in the future. From the economic point of view, the MME would definitely be a better choice.

Personally, I just find the Model 3 to be extremely boring and a bit of a Toy Car. If we could have all those good Tesla techs in the MME, the MME would be unbeatable :p

Mach E is AWD with 360kms of range. Model 3 is AWD with 572kms of range.
I definitely agree the Mach E is the more economical price but the range, battery wear, and resale value is where I’m struggling a bit. Model 3 is a bit more proven with those aspects though agreed not as fun from the outside. One thing I do like about the model 3 is the warranty is good for an extra 32,000kms!

Is there a reason why your using the American chat? Are you Canada resident? I heard the chat feature is being maintenance from another user not sure if that what’s happening
