In early '21 when I got my first Mach-E, I had the same issue where the cargo cover would flap around so much when the windows were down that it became detached. I covered the entire top with 1/4" closed cell foam to give it a bit of weight. Never had a problem since. I've moved that cargo cover with the foam top from car to car and it's now on my third Mach-E. All it needed was a bit of weight to keep it flat.

There is an easy fix for this.

Step 1 - Remove cargo cover
Step 2 - Throw that thing in the trash ?

Problem solved. If you want something that doesn't flap around in the wind, or come undone when you look at it, you're going to need to buy a 3rd party cover unfortunately.
Or, just one step: close the window.

Why are you people driving around with the windows open? Unless someone is handing me a Big Mac and some fries, my windows are closed.

It think the wind type is the one the op was taking about.
Both are wind related. The fluttering is very low level, but in my 21 with the clips it’s all I get now. Without the clips , it’s flapping about a lot — fluttering on steroids. In any event it’s worked for me for sometime.

I don’t, but opening the door in a gust can dislodge one side, then it hangs crooked. Have to get out and fix It. Annoying AF.

If it's cool or pleasant outside, why not? Why is that such a strange thought to you?

HD sells cheap o-rings that secure the clips to the attachment point, but I'm sure it will still flop around.

I used 1/4” Dynliner which I cut to the shape of the cover and it has adhesive on one side so just stuck it to the top. I do not have a photo and out of town until Sunday but will post a photo then.

question, when I drive with my windows open, (my dog loves it :), the cargo cover in the back lifts up and flaps around like crazy, anyone have a remedy for this, I looked online to see if there is some kind of small weight, I can attach but have not found anything yet. I know I can probably just shorten the string but wondering if anyone else has a plan.
Mine is on a shelf in the basement now; it doesn't flop around anymore.

Sorry for the delay Sean, been a bit busy since I got home but here is a photo of my cargo cover with 1/4" foam on top. Dynaliner has a self adhesive backing so I cut it (as best as I could) and stuck it to the cover. This is going on 4 years (been in all three Mach-E's) and still works great.

Not sure how heavy the cover was without any foam but I originally I had put on 1/8" foam and it was still a bit light so went with the 1/4" foam and felt it was perfect. It weighs 1 3/4 lb.

I don't drive the car much with my windows down but the few times I have, it has never come undone. Also, in this '24 GT, they changed something in the catches as it is very hard to snap in and out. The main reason I keep the cargo cover attached in the back is for sound deadening. Having that large piece of foam back there further quiets down the road noise.

Thanks a lot Mark. That's very ingenious.
Where did you buy the Dynaliner?

Amazon but Dynaliner is really expensive. It is very high quality foam. Not some cheap stuff that will disintegrate after a few months in the sun. I lined the entire bottom of my HVB with this exact foam and so far, it's doing pretty well but that was just for thermal experimentation purposes so don't expect nor do I care if it lasts forever. After cutting it to the size of the cover, you will have some left over. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000WQOR4C?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

Mine sits in the closet along with the frunk dividers originally installed in my ‘21 Premium.
