Anyone have 1) a pic of the inside back of the center console and 2) directions to tear it down if the slide cover thing is jammed and won't open? I am wondering if there is a wall along that back that it slides behind? or just a track into the cavern of the console?

Mine has been stuck/jammed stuck for several weeks and the dealership can't get me in for another month. Unfortunately, my dads handicap parking pass is stuck inside and I will need it next week.

I have tried all kinds of fancy driving maneuvers to try and dislodge anything that may be preventing it to slide with no luck whatsoever. It will only open/slide about 1/8".

Bet you haven't turned the car upside down and shaken it, ?

No ideas, will look inside next time I'm in the car.

Do about 50 WOTs in a row. It might not get the jammed item to move, but it will get your HVBJB to move. ? And what is more fun than a bunch of WOTs?

If anyone on this Forum will know, it'll likely be @markboris...

Hi Leanne, below is a photo with the rear panel of the console removed. To remove it it just pulls straight out and away from the console. It is held in with 6 clips I believe. I took this photo over a year ago so cannot remember. You can see once it is off, the tracks on either side that the cover rolls down into. With a flashlight you should be able to look inside and see what is binding against the cover and hopefully can push it down with something flat so you can get in there.

Literally took my 1 minute!! Nothing was stuck, there is a little roller in the 2 corners that seemed to be binding. I just gave it a few hard spins and it’s fine now!

And here I thought I was going to have a time capsule for ever!!

LMAO. And you were right!

Was this when @markboris removed his and installed a device to add some whizbang feature?
Actually, yes it was Rick. You gave me my first laugh of the day.

If you notice in that photo, there is a black wire that is tied up and that is a USB cable coming from the wireless phone charger I mounted under the armrest and it is going to the 12V outlet inside the console storage bin. I have a couple of posts here ( #9 , #11 ) all about that install which I did on my Premium a year ago. I did the same thing on my GT recently but I am using a different, updated wireless charger I like better.

Ah. I thought it was when you had it coated in silver plating to match the gearshift knob. ? Your vehicles look great by the way.

I did however have the armrest trimmed in Alcantara to match the Miko cloth of the GTPE interior.....

Thanks for the compliment on my cars Rick.

hi, I have the same problem and I think it’s something I put in there that is causing it to be stuck. My car is a 2025, can you tell me how to get that back cover off? Am I just supposed to pull on it?

Thank you for this. I didn't have any luck just pulling up off the cover, but I did pull on it enough to create a gap against the credit card in it and then just started to separate the cover and that worked. Thanks for this!

Also, really terrible design by Ford on this. The inside of the storage cover actually has ridges on it where it can catch stuff. It should be simple enough to just make it regular, smooth plastic
