Short of giving you her email, which I don't think I should do, the best bet is reaching out to her on social media.

I have emailed Emily and am awaiting a reply.
Perhaps Ford can reverse course on this change. I know nothing about software but if they were able to throw a switch to turn something off PDQ, I’d think they could flip the switch back to on. It doesn’t hurt to have redundant systems. It will be interesting to learn if Emily responds about the issue of adding SCs to the navigation, and whether she swears you to secrecy or allows you to publish at least an airbrushed version of the plans, or lack thereof. Good luck with your discussions.

Ok, after whining a bit, I just played around with FordPass and Public Charging in FordPass DOES list compatible (and incompatible) Tesla SuperChargers. It also will create a route to them in Apple Maps or Google Maps. The only thing that seems to be missing are:
1. An “offline” capability
2. The ability to send a route to the in-vehicle navigation system.
I haven’t verified if you can initiate a charge session from FordPass, but that would be reasonable.
You can find a SC from the in car Public Charging app and send directions to as a waypoint to a Ford navi trip. I did it yesterday. That said, I already knew where that SC was located and that is open to Fords. I just plugged the city name in and waded through a bunch of other businesses also shown before I found the SC listed. That’s why it was cumbersome to me. It’s possible it works better than my experience which may have been hampered by my inexperience. Whether I could find a SC otherwise, and whether it would indicate availability to Fords, I’m not sure, I’ll have to give it a try on some random route.

Please read the thread, that is the functionality Ford just removed that many of us are upset about.

I mean.....sure they can. But this move screams "trying to save money" while making the experience less functional.

Prior to my first road trip I asked a Tesla owner how they planned for their 2000 mile road trip. They entered the destination into the touchscreen and the CHARGERS APPEARED THERE ON THE SCREEN. Bam.

I kid you not @Ford Motor Company my grandson and I used 6 apps during our trip. We wanted to enjoy the ride in the wonderful Mach e but ended up having range anxiety the whole trip.

Oh, every charger on the route was plug and pay. Except. The one Ford DCFC where I spent 5 minutes trying to initiate the charge only to discover I needed to do it from the Ford Pass app.

Ford, you're world class. Don't blow this like you did with Sync all those years ago and had to have Blackberry bail you out...

Capt Ron
You may not have known this, but other EVs beside Tesla, including the one you drive will provide you a route to a destination while including charging stops, estimated SOC and the ability to replace charging stops. My sister and her husband just got their first EV, a CPO Mercedes EQS and that car will also provide you with a route and chargers to stop at if you enter your destination in the nav. It also routes to eligible Tesla SCs and it allows you to replace chargers and the car auto-preconditions. They haven't used multiple apps for any of the 4 trips they've taken in the car since they got in April and they're enjoying it without any range anxiety.

You don't need to use 5 apps or whatever you used. The problem is that for Ford models prior to 2025, you need to pay for connected services in order to see the eligible Tesla superchargers in the nav.

Ford: Let's save money and at the same time make the the public charging experience even more confusing and cumbersome for or valued customers!!!!

Incoming from Ford: "We did extensive customer research and our customers said that they would rather use an app on their phone than using apps in-car on-screen."

Sure Ford, we believe you.

That could be. Where is the savings? Software staff time in development and maintenance? I don’t know … the program
manager probably has “x” $$ in a budget and is trying to allocate resources where “they” think they get the most bang for the buck. That’s about the best face I can put on this situation.

It’s more in the direction that we can’t manually precondition, we can’t use google maps with CarPlay to precondition, we could not use the charge app to navigate to charger to precondition and we can’t use the native nav to navigate to Teslas to enable precondition. Living in a cold country it is crucial function for me.
European based verse USA based. Not sure of the why not answers.

And, will Tesla SuperChargers be added to the Ford Navigation system? After all, some of us feel sorry for Elon and want to make it rain for him ???
Exist in my 21 Premium

Mark, thanks and I expected that answer. To be honest, the communications was not well-done if it closed like that without offering some type of communication channel, after inviting communication. I certainly am not asking you to take over the roll of customer communications for ford and I do appreciate you staying on top of, and sharing things like this!
As for “social media”, I’m actually pretty anti-social. I don’t have facecrook, and I don’t use twitter, BlueSky, or threads. I do watch some YouTube videos, but do so without logging in. I stopped using LinkedIn as soon as I retired. TBH, this forum is about the most “social”, I’ve ever gotten.
Time to crawl back into my burrow now before I melt in the sunlight ?

Yes, I know. That is the exact functionality that ford is removing from the vehicle ?
