Yes, this is a problem for me as well. Do we know yet if there is a way to force charging only during the time window other than to manually stop charging and then (hopefully) remember to restart it when in the window?
You can do this with a smart charger, i.e. restrict charging hours.

Or, you can lower the target charge level to that which can complete in the session.

Or, you can unplug and set an alarm/timer on your phone.

Yep. Shouldn't have to, but yep.

Why not just select "charge when plugged in" ?

Because that is exactly what I do not want it to do. I want it to only charge during the hours I select in Ford Pass when using my home charger. It won't follow that instruction if it calculates that it won't reach the target charge level during that time window. So it is giving priority to charge level over time. I want to be able to make time have priority - without having to control it manually.

My EVSE likely has timer settings (it's a Juice Box 40) but I have not played with them, hoping I could use the vehicle controls to accomplish my goals.

Yes, go into Settings and Smart Charging and set your hours.

Sorry for the confusion, I thought you'd set up hours
Cool, thanks. I never even created an account and put the charger on the wifi. I will today.
I'm a bit confused. so you never set up charging on fordpass? If you're using the fordpass app, you can set the time charge start and stop times for whatever you like. That's what I've been doing with the ford portable evse. I also have it set to 90%.

I set it up in Ford Pass months ago. It worked fine but now it has stopped working.

I never set it on the Juice Box. I will try that later today.

I have charging set to whenever plugged in.
Departure time set in the morning.
11kW charger.
I get this error every time I park, even if I I only miss 1% from the 90% target.

Sometimes it will also alert with a different message saying that battery will only be 83% at next departure - as I pull OUT of the driveway. Not sure how the AI knows what will happen this day and predicts I will forget to plug in the charger in the afternoon?
