I was supposed to have my Charge Station Pro installed today. Ford was offering a $1,000 discount for the station with installation, so it seemed like a no-brainer. I was told an external company would handle everything. The installers showed up empty-handed. And informed me the dealership is to provide the charger. I called the dealership, and they said, oh yeah, we forgot to tell you.
This post is not about the customer service at the dealership; I am curious about workarounds. I can trickle charge with 120 and take forever, and I have a Nema 10-30 240 dryer plug. The electrician told me after doing some investigation not to use a 10-30 to 14-50 converter because the plug is pulling 30, and he is afraid the wires will overheat and cause a fire.
If the stations are on lengthy backorders, I donāt want to be stuck paying for charging (which has been expensive) or relying on the trickle charge because I need overnight turnaround on occasion. Any suggestions?
