Hi - I have had my ME for almost two years. Initially had this happen a couple of itmes but not for some time. Then about a month ago started having frequently:

I plug the car in at night (car s scheduled to charge to 90%) and wake up in the morning to see "Charger Paused" and always well short of the target. Further, when I click into Details on the app and there is a choice "Charge to 100%" nothing happens when I click this. Charging is just paused until I unplug and start again.

This is now happening pretty consistently and obviously is problematic for days when I need a cull charge ready to go. Ideas? Thanks.

This has happened to me as well. But a pause in charging isn’t a mistake, it’s a design feature.

Charging pauses can be triggered by a number of things, including the operator. I often pause charging because my Emporia Level 2 charger at home is set up to initiate charging from pause only when excess solar power is available. So I pause my charging all the time.

I’ve also seen unplanned pauses like you’re experiencing, for unknown reasons. These are usually caused by some interruption in the charge current. A voltage spike or drop could also be the cause. As you pointed out, the fix is simple: Just re-initiate the charger. I realize that doesn’t help you when you need to depart.

In your case, I’d suggest examining your charger to check the torque on the high-current connections. Chargers need periodic maintenance, too, and often don’t get it. The charger could be the cause of your occasional pauses. Good luck!

Hmm. Thanks for the answer but I don't know.
My charger has lights that indicate errors and they're never one even this happens. And it never seems to happen when I manually start a charge, only when it's on the schedule... As far as I can tell.
I guess it's possible that something is up with the charger but it seems like this is a car issue based on the way it's happening.
Also any idea why, when I get the Paused message, it doesn't let me use the "charge to 100 percent" button (won't continue the charge) but will if I unplug and plug back in? Again doesn't seem like that's related to the charger...?
Thanks

I'm having the same issue! I have a ChargePoint Home Level 2 charger. Intermittently my charging session stops just as WP Joe noted above. Sometimes 5 minutes into the charging session, sometimes over a 1/2 hour.
I also have to remove the plug and reinstall it. This Stop/Go can happen 2 to 3 times in a 5 minute span and then it just works as it is supposed to, finishing the whole charging session, like nothing happened
My next call is to Charge Point technical before I call Ford
Any thoughts from other owners having this issue, would be appreciated?

Hello! Could you privately message us with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer so I can look into this charging concern? Thanks!

happened again for the third night in a row. charger works fine for my other car.

in addition, now when I plug in and see the "Waiting to Charge" window with the Details button, I can no longer select Details and then "Charge to 100%". That button has simply disappeared.

So now its not charging according to the schedule and also not giving me the option to charge outside the schedule! ARGH.

If all else fails, you might go into the car and delete all charging locations. That should cause it to charge to 100% as soon as you plug in.

Here is what just happened, in case it gives anyone ideas about the possible problem...
1 - once again car did not charge overnight when plugged in and scheduled
2 - today, plugged car in to charge outside of schedule - didnt have the Charge to 100% option so just turned the schedule off for time being
3 - car would not charge - app said "Charge Paused"
4 - unplugged and then replugged in and disabled schedule...still said "Charge Paused"
5 - disconnected and plugged in my other EV which charged no problem.
6 - went back and plugged in Mach-e...disabled schedule...now it is charging again

So it does not feel like the Charge Paused issue is a malfunction of the juicebox as initially suggested as a possibility.

(none of this addresses the lack of Charge to 100% option I mentioned above, but is bac on topic for this thread of the recurring "Charge Paused" issue)

Remember, it's a Ford.
Just buy a "stupid" EVSE, L1 or L2. Plug it in when you require more electricity. Works every time. Never a problem. Six plus years now.

(Clipper Creek, now owned by Enphase. Not cool, but works every time. L1 is GM provided unit - now used pretty much exclusively, directly from solar panels.)
